  3. Thanks Chunky . If you would like any pictures of the bike i can forward them to you .
  4. Update time ! Tony Webb has identified the frame as a Kermond and at this stage the forks apear to be Rotrax forks with a Startrax nameplate tacked to them . My next project will be to try and track down Tony Childs and see if he ever owned or raced the bike as a complete unit ?
  5. I have found a referance to A Childs racing on June the 4th 1960 for the Yarmouth Bloaters against the Bradford Panthers .Does anyone know if he raced before this ?
  6. Thanks for the response Tony . I'm up at work at the moment but when i get back to Perth i will get some photos of the name plate , the serial number and the A Childs on the rocker gear . I have some general photos of the bike that i will email you today . If anyone knows how to host photos i can email them the photos so everyone can have a look . How do i go about purchasing a copy of your book ? The bike was purchase off a old guy in Exeter called Gerrald Gibbons who has a substantial collection of bikes and the plan is to fully restore it .
  7. How about the club emblems from some of the now defunt clubs such as Yarmouth or Hackney . Some of the early program covers had some interesting art on them and look as if the would make an interesting shirt .
  8. Thanks for taking the time to reply . I had thought it may have been Tony Childs the motor would have been more than ten years old when Tony started racing but i presume that wouldn't have been unusual in the early 60's . I'm still after info on Startrax frames if anyone knows anything about them ?
  9. I recently purchased a 1948/49 JAP powered Startrax bike for restoration . The motor has A Childs stamped on it and i was wondering if anyone could tell me who A Childs was ? Also wondering if anyone has any information on Startrax frames ?
