Agree with speed ace about using meeting threads for another subject, but when someone else raised the point I wasn't going to start a new thread. It does annoy me when a thread goes off in a completely different tangent. Oops maybe I should have posted that in the "What annoys me" thread.

Teams on Northern tours used to spend the day at Beaton's bus garage doing their bikes.

I made a suggestion about installing the temporary type of terracing that they have at Redcar. I was told that it would be expensive and at the moment the answer was no. If the plan to build the speedway and football academy goes ahead it would be a few years before anyone came through that into a team place. In the short term, in my opinion, spectator facilities are more important. Other than that I'm satisfied with the developments.

Would it not be better if people just said "To quote Lucifer Sam" instead of posting his full post,thus saving band width?

How come Glasgow volunteer supporters managed to build three tracks, Blantyre 1 and 2 and Shawfield, without contractors? O,K. we had assistance from supporters who owned plant but in the main it was volunteers.

The only losers yesterday were the ones who didn't go. Well done to all who took part.

A "good" turn out, should have been a very good turn out. Four riders (O.K. sometimes two or three) doing four laps is a race that I'll watch. If you didn't go then you were the losers.

Can the S.C.B. not do something about these wet tracks? Edinburgh don't ride them very well.

Maybe it should be compulsory to have kennels overlooking the track for all these dogs that love speedway.
