  1. Actually, I'd love to be there; albeit I'm under trenendous stress due to my Wife having a serious operation to remove an ingrowing toenail. Maybe next week, eh?
  2. Wow.......I bet they're putting out the crowd barriers as I type.
  3. My opinion? Biggest cheat I've ever known in this sport - which to my mind, overshadows any of his success.
  4. Oh, so Poole won the league. I couldn't even be bothered to sit indoors watching it if I'm honest as I'm so disenchanted with this pathetic sport - the pub, and spending some quality time with my mates, was a far better option. Poole Speedway - Elite League Champions 2015. Does it really matter (to the sycophants outside of Dorset)? For many of us - not in the slightest. No doubt Mr. Fraud, and his lapdog, will have sticky boxers. For me (and no doubt many others)? In a word...........Bore'on! Zzzzzzzzzzzz.
  5. Until her death, I did always wonder whether Pat Butcher and Trevor Swales had ever been seen in the same room!
  6. £3,004 it is then. Principle is often more important than profit. Are you assuming that he hadn't? Who knows - it isn't clear. The same for fan donations. Was this ever collected? Who knows. Suffice to say that the money aspect is purely secondary; albeit, I assume you are using this aspect as a smoke-screen for the bigger picture. The most important issue is that the SCB are too incompetent to abide by their OWN regulations. Can that be deemed acceptable? But then, as a Poole sycophant, the SCB are your allies - and any stance taken that is 'anti-Coventry' must be a good one, eh?
  7. What a convenient decision. I hope that Mr. Horton asks for the interest on the three grand! So, yet again, the SCB demonstrate their utter incompetence - not even knowing the terms within their OWN Regulations, is at best laughable; and at worst absolutely disgaceful. A bunch of utter clowns that should be sacked.
  8. Unfortunately, with AJ, you never know which bloke is going to turn up. And he certainly isn't alone in that problem these days. It's all about the gate, and subsequent speed. Overtaking and team riding are (unfortunately) two attributes that are apparently sadly lacking in the vast majority of todays riders - even the top ones. I think both teams in this final are pretty evenly matched. It just depends what strokes the 'Dorset Duo' are going to pull next week.
  9. I certainly don't think you would have 'smashed them' had they not had injuries to two key riders. With all due respect, weren't Coventry leading The Elite League Table a darn sight longer during 2015 than Poole were? And no, I'm not a Coventry Supporter. That said, I know I'm truly hoping for Belle Vue's success next week.
  10. I've spent a lot more than 20 quid at Spearmint Rhino's for similar!
  11. "But despite these wise words of wisdom, a young David Cameron would not be deterred". (Can't believe today's news story! That said, The Sun appear to be keeping it all very low key. You've got more chance of finding last night's Speedway results in it).
  12. So do a lot of us. As Temporary Belle Vue Supporters.
  13. I genuinely hope that tonight's win has put Dakota North in a better frame of mind; and that he won't therefore have to seek an extension to his 'compassionate leave/sick note'; and subsequently manages to ride in the final play-offs next week.
  14. Not at the moment he isn't Robert - he's a few thousand miles away! And that alone, in many people's minds, is the nub of the issue. As for flight availability. As a travel agent, I book flights to Australia (and New Zealand) almost daily - I could get him one right now, departing within the next 24 hours, via Emirates, Qatar or Singapore Airlnes. They are two of the most popular destinations for the type of holiday I book (motorhoming). It cannot be a life-threatening injury - else surgery would have been immediate. Suffice to say many of us cannot comprehend why Dak is still present on these shores - particularly given his apparent close relationship to his Father. Something just doesn't add up.
  15. Rosco isn't my favourite person in this sport. However, in his defence, I can categorically assure you that he didn't have a clue about Ed's misdemeanour in 2011. As for this current scenario. Despite the comments, nobody on here truly knows whether this is a genuine situation, or not. The problem is that Matt Ford truly is 'the little boy that cried wolf'. He, and his club, have 'history' of cheating; and using various scenarios to their advantage. And given this fact, you cannot blame people for having at least an element of doubt in their minds. All but the usual sycophants of Poole Speedway (and the supportive 'love in' coming their way from one or two in Wiltshire) will have a doubt that this situation is genuine. The fact that North has been riding so badly adds 'motive' to the scenario. If Mr. North senior is so poorly that it is effecting his son in this way, then it does beg the question why he hasn't flown home. Talk of 'compassionate leave' so that North can get his head together has, in all honesty, the depth of a grain of sand. If Mr. North is badly injured (and everyone would obviously hope that he really isn't) then, life-threatening or not, I would expect Dak North to have been on a plane to be at his side; rather than undergoing therapy with Dr. Watt on a golf course. That, I think, is what many cannot get their head around. If Dak is truly concerned, then surely he would have wanted to be at home with his family. I think that the majority of people faced with a similar situation unquestionably would. The alternative is potentially fearing the worst whenever your phone rang. You would be beating yourself up mentally not knowing the current state of play regarding a loved-ones' condition; indeed, with the fact of not knowing constantly on your mind (when, being human, you will be thinking of a number of worst-case scenarios) it will potentially make your mindset worse. You'd also probably be feeling pretty useless; located on the other side of the World. Again, not a good condition to be in to aid your recovery. As I said above, nobody really knows the truth in this matter. However, if you consider something termed 'the balance of probability' then it does, at best, appear to be extremely suspect. I just wonder whether this compassionate leave will extend into the play-off final meetings? If it does, yet Dakota North is still within the UK, then I think the question of cheating would have been well and truly answered.
  16. Yes. Poole Speedway Club. Temporary position apparently.
  17. Let's consider the two different (current 2015) economies of Sweden and ourselves: - Consumer Prices in United Kingdom are 14.32% higher than in Sweden - Consumer Prices Including Rent in United Kingdom are 21.80% higher than in Sweden - Rent Prices in United Kingdom are 44.46% higher than in Sweden - Restaurant Prices in United Kingdom are 16.56% higher than in Sweden - Groceries Prices in United Kingdom are 11.68% higher than in Sweden Yes, we've all paid a fiver (maybe more) for a bottle of beer in Gothenburg, etc. but these are the prices for Sweden as a whole. Take into account also that the AVERAGE hourly working rate is 163 Swedish Krona; that equates to £12.80 per hour. That's an average wage that many people within the UK can only dream of. So it's clear to see that not only are the Swedes earning a darn sight more, they also have significantly more disposable income. Added to which, something I've said a few times before, we are paying too much for the product in the UK. A speedway meeting (at Hackney, and to the best of my memory at other British League tracks) in 1982 cost £2.50. The majority of the World's best riders were on display every week; at tracks the length and breadth of this country. Using a historic inflation calculator (from an accedited UK financial website) £2.50 in 1982, and taking into account all aspects of inflation, is worth £8.57 by today's standards. That figure is MORE than double what we are paying today for a watered-down product, with teams containing riders of less ability; and meetings with less heats (no second halves, Golden Helmet, etc.). Cost is the main reason, in my honest opinion, why people have turned their back on this sport. Either they can't afford it; or don't deem it value for money any more. Many, including myself, have just become jaded with other additional factors - such as guests, R/R's and infrequent meetings. You just find other things to do. And the truth is if one-time Speedway fans fall into these categories, what hope is there of attracting a sufficient number of new fans?Hardly any, I hate to say. If the Elite League (in particular) was an animal, you'd do the humanitarian thing and just put it out of its misery.
  18. Who knows. Mr. Rossiter, and the Swindon Management, commited to a Lee Richardson meeting when Lee sadly left us. Some of us are still waiting for the event to happen. As the saying goes 'talk is cheap'.
  19. Not really.. Personally, I'd prefer to be deemed childish than a liar; whilst also putting riders lives at risk purely for the sake of financial profit.
  20. As I mentioned in a thread a couple of weeks back. Whatever happened to Coventry's appeal to the Speedway Control Bureau following the outcome of their statement on 16th July? The SCB seemed relatively quick (by their standards) dealing with the intitial fines; but what happened to Cov's subsequent appeal that they stated they'd make? And also, what happened to Coventry Promotion's complaint about Sky and Go Speed's decision to run the meeting in the first instance? Are we to assume that The Chuckle Brothers now have no case to answer; despite Mick Horton apparently having sufficient evidence to the contrary? Just to add that I fully supported Cov over this debacle but something doesn't seem to sit right here. Maybe, the 3 grand fine handed out to the club (not the riders) would be 'dropped on appeal' if Cov agreed to keep schtum and not drag Wide Boy and The Fat Controller's names through the mud (despite the fact they are happy for riders to race in it). So there you go folks. I may well have missed the news - it's difficult to get motivated with this sport as much as I used to. However, it would be nice to learn of the outcome...........if anyone is aware?
  21. Not quite sure how a 'Newsflash' in September stacks up against what was common knowledge to all in May!
  22. 9 months at least I would have hoped! If not, I'd take a DNA test Hans.
  23. It says - "vi har ikke fått en blodig anelse hva været blir i Coventry senere"!
