Not just late season - Chris, Jack and Brady were in the Poole pits more than for their Premiership and other clubs for most of the season. Expect them to continue with that support (Jack spannering for Ben/Zach - if confirmed?)

That should keep STEVEHOLS54 happy!! and when he's done 12 meetings he becomes a Poole asset.

Targetting teenagers and those into their early twenties will do nothing unless the message and/or incentive is relevant to them. Apologies to Brum fans as this is a general speedway malaise - even those clubs that still attract decent crowds - BUT promoting the sport as a 'family-friendly' sport will more likely turn off any potential teenage audience. With teenagers described earlier as 'hunting in packs' then build up each fixture as a 'dangerous, thrilling spectacle' with possible vendettas against the opposing teams. Create some tensions in the local media between riders of each team and get the riders to be involved in some 'handbags'-type arguments. A bit of occasional booing amongst the fans would add to the tensions which must then be covered in the media.

The big difference being that when attending McDonalds you know exactly what you are going to get and are in decent surroundings. At speedway meetings that cannot always be guaranteed week after week

The deadline to respond to this draft document is 7th March!! Its interesting - not to say worrying - that the stadium site is within the 'regenerating the town centre' area, but without any specific reference to any scheme, other than introducing tall buildings north of the railway line, whereas sites like the Dolphin Leisure Centre are specifically mentioned for 'enhancement'!! I understand and sympathise!!! However if you are seeking a warmer climate and more enjoyable times, the answer is simple - move to Poole!! In the meantime enjoy your snowballs!

Predictions at this stage of the pre-season are a little optimistic - notwithstanding Poole's yet-to-be-announced 1-7 - as I wager there are likely to be at least one change - possibly more - in every team prior to reaching the business end of the 2022 season.

I'll say it again - its not how you start its how you finish!! We didn't get Basso til end August in 2021 but still did pretty well prior to that. I would wager that the Fords have their eye on someone similar to bring in if required mid-season - in any case it keeps the starting 1-7 on their toes - whoever they maybe?

I meant it rhetorically! If a club has the choice of more than one rider on similar averages for a team place, then they will tend to opt for the club asset if there is one rather than pay another loan fee to another rider's club.

Surely people aren't asking to know what a rider gets paid - just whether he's on a guarantee or not. If/When a rider IS on a guarantee thats usually not all he gets in his financial package!!

Clearly some clubs don't get enough fans to chip in!!

Hook scored 021ex2 in today's NSW state Championships. Not a patch on the top 8.

Masters and Pickering were 2nd and 3rd behind Jack Holder in today's NSW State Championships.

Great effort considering he was up against far more experienced riders. Zach (spelled ZAC in the racecard!) did well too and should both hold their own as second strings in the Championship.

Gaming International - not Poole Speedway - charged £2.50 per car on speedway nights. They run the car park on behalf of the Council as part of the stadium lease. The car park is used for office workers, shoppers and hospital workers during the day.
