  1. He can't/won't give a statement until FIM have given their 'full reasoning' in their own statement, which according to the often quoted FIM rule should be within 45 days of the hearing, so we've got til Sunday for the FIM to issue theirs first. Then DW has 21 days to appeal or not.
  2. The 1936 Olympics would have been much much worse without Jesse Owens!
  3. Shame you're not a bookie then as we might get much longer odds!!
  4. Surely its been the case for many seasons that any team that shows the most improvement on their starting average is likely to at least be in the play-offs if not the eventual champions.
  5. No wonder SteveBrum has gone missing!! Hope he's ok.
  6. Lets hope Eurosport introduce a 'pits interviewer' for the coming SGP series. If each rider is interviewed before the meeting, walking (a straight line) towards the camera, we can all give our views as to how intelligible they are and whether they should be allowed to race?!
  7. Was his career backdated??! But he wasn't ineligible at the time!!!
  8. Best wishes to both for a full and speedy recovery.
  9. Not for the first time, the FIM statement makes no mention of any club. They have no power to force domestic associations/clubs/leagues to change anything - particularly on a back-dated basis - when the punishment statement applies solely to an offence by a rider in an FIM individual international meeting. Nothing more to see here - move on.
  10. Not according to SCB's Graham Reeve in this week's SS. "We suspended Darcy when the FIM suspended him. We cannot backdate a suspension. That's crazy.......I can't see Poland or Sweden changing their results either."
  11. KO Cup 2001 Poole v Coventry - Cegielski hunting Hamill and Tacey for 4 laps and taking both on the line!!
  12. As opposed to the Kings Lynn v Poole 1st leg which Poole also won!! I think the mods should close this unnecessary thread now - the SCB has spoken!
  13. When has the local paper ever been known to be wrong?!
  14. waiting for the FIM to announce their full statement first I guess - they have until March 15th - unless he's already been given advance notice of what it says?!
  15. Big new £1,7 million (10 mill zloty?) sponsorship announced for Polish Extraleague. Lets hope some of it goes to those riders left out of pocket last year!!
  16. Good articles in this week's SS Philip. The only thing I think maybe incorrect is that 'any appeal by Darcy must be lodged within 21 days of the FIM penalty statement', whereas the statement actually says 'within 21 days of the date of receipt of the full reasoned CDI decision'! - which is yet to be issued as far as I'm aware?! Please correct me if I'm reading it wrongly.
  17. Didn't the SS do exactly the same with Dudek, even though he doesn't race in the UK? What are they supposed to do - hide the story away and hope people don't see it?? That would doubtless create another 300+ pages of 'unfair journalism' BS!!
  18. We don't know - maybe, maybe not?! Depends on what comes out in the statements (FIM and Ward's) and whether there are still any questions to be asked/answered. I guess an indication of that will be whether Ward decides to appeal based on what the statement says.
  19. But we don't know all the reasoning because the FIM have not yet published it!!! (As stated on the Poole thread - read the FIM statement again.) The punishment of 'only 10 months backdated' may be because there were some other factors? As I've said right from the outset I do not condone his stupidity - but everyone is entitled to a fair hearing, with all the circumstances being aired and published so that unbiased comment can be made. And Darcy has '21 days from the date of the full reasoned CDI decision' to appeal if required.
  20. Ah 20 years time - that'll be when Tai has gone home to Oz I guess.
