  1. I met a guy today named Les Gibson , who said he rode for Wimbledon in the 1930's, under the name Les Dearth. He is 99 years of age. I have no reason to doubt him. He appeared to know the riders of the day. Anyone know of him and if he was any good.
  2. Hi, Don't know if anyone is interested in 1930's speedway stars but I have just purchased a autograph album of music hall stars and was surprised to find the following speedway riders and other bike riders in it. A lot of the autographs in the book are dated 1938/39 and the speedway ones come before them in the book...So latest date I presume they were signed was 1938. The names are.............. Gus Kuhn Bluey Wilkinson Austin Humphries Bob Wells Fred Strecker Frank Dolan Will Lowther is on the reverse of one of the autographs Also ......Putt Moosman and Spike Rhiando I have them listed on Ebay if you are interested in buying. Martin
  3. interestingly...I have just bought an autograph book with some speedway riders and a stunt rider in it. Putt Mossman Bluey Wilkinson, Gus Kuhn Austin Humphries Bob Wells. I watched the Exeter Falcons during the 1970's and had the opportunity to watch the great Ivan Mauger. I don't know how good the listed riders were but if they were half as good as him...they must have been good. Martin
