Grand Prix changes
jacksback replied to baiden's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
WHY WHY WHY What an absolute joke. A rider can have 6 perfects rides (18 points) and finish last in the final and get 14 points. "IF IT'S NOT BROKEN" -
LOL you have to be joking!!! Mark Loram was a good rider but no where near the natural talent of Darcy Ward.
-
Talk about great...how about the greatest to date...Darcy Ward is without doubt the most talented rider ever to throw his leg over a speedway bike. I have been watching speedway for nearly 60 years and have never seen a rider with so much time on a bike ...just as well he cannot gate otherwise it would be boring !!!
-
Nothing...lets move the discussion on I would be interested to hear your interpretation so that I can understand...Thanks
-
Guys through up what you like...the results stand...
-
LOL I understand the ruling....AJ do you really think any team result will be affected
-
Pretty much explained above...the FIM did no suspend Dacry immediately and let him compete for some to time ...would be unfair to fellow teammates to exclude his results...not a brainbuster
-
Have a look at the the extra large text aove...fairness to other team members....the FIM allowed Darcy to compete for some time after the event...He wasn't disqualified immediately,,,FIM F?ck up
-
It states Mr Ward and not the team. See post above...sorry you live in hope

ARTICLE 11 CONSEQUENCES TO TEAMS 11.1 If a member of a team is found to have committed a violation of these Anti-Doping Rules during an event for teams competing with 11.2 If a member of a team is found to have committed a violation of these Anti-Doping Rules during an event where a team ranking is based on the addition of individual results, the results of the rider committing the violation will be subtracted from the team result and replaced with the results of the next applicable team member. If by removing the rider’s results from the team results, the number of riders counting for the team is less than the required number, the team shall be eliminated from the ranking Self explanitory
-
In the ruling it states "individual results" not team So for all you Darcy and Poole haters out there...last seasoins results will not change...suck it up
-
According to the FIM the points/prize money deduction only relates to the individual and not the team...
-
So you know what actually happened? Or only what you read in the media?
-
No conviction was recorded
-
Love the title of this topic...why ? what a waste of space. No amount of recharging is going help his results this year...will only average 3 to 6 a GP... What another loser... Over a long time ago and we can only hope so...we want the best and I am sorry, bomber doesn't cut it.

When you look at "the crime" does it really warrant a 2 year or even a 12 month ban. Firstly it is not an offence to consume alcohol away from the track and he did not drink at the track. I believe the breath test was done around midday at the completion of the riders briefing and his first heat would have been around 3.30pm. If the test was done just prior to his first heat he would have been under the limit, passed the test and free to ride. So to say he attempted to ride pissed is just ridiculous. I agree the punishment should fit the crime. 6 months is ample for being so stupid.
-
GC- sorry to confuse you with my post...will type slower in future
-
The fact that the test wasn't carried out in accordance with FIM guidlines will have an impact on the severity of the ban.
-
Who would you rather see in a GP line-up Chris Harris or Darcy Ward?
-
He should get 12 months but this will be reduced by 50% to 6 months (for openly admitting he was on the piss the night before, and by not trying to compete after being notified of his suspension). The suspension will commence from the date of the alcohol test. Could even be 12 months reduced to 3 months as it is not an offence to consume alcohol off track. Judging by the timing of his hearing, it is nearly 3 months from the date of the meeting at Daugavpils on 17 August, coincidence or not ? Makes me lean towards 3 months.

Just a wasted space...what a shame if he kept out someone like Bartosz Zmarzlik
-
EL is not SGP (at which he continually under performs) don't you agree
-
Sorry the guy is a wasted space. He will never be competitive at international level. Good luck to him for qualifying, But really his fellow competitors must love comming up against him in a heat because at least they know they will get a point. SGP should introduce a rule to prevent non performers from qualifying year after year.

If the officials failed to follow the the regulations relating to the breath testing of Darcy Ward at the meeting then they have nothing. If they failed to ask him if he intended to race that day they have nothing as he could have attended with the purpose to not compete (that is to withdraw from the meeting). If the question wasn't asked (sign in sheet not signed) then he has nothing to answer for.
