Redcar V Workington Sgp Cl
oldywonkenoldi replied to Norfolk Bear's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well done to the Comets on your deserved win last night, but two things spring to mind about the meeting, Redcar are missing their injured riders which includes a not fully fit Charles Wright, and the decisions on alleged flyers from the tapes. Heat 1 Garrity was pulled back for a brilliant start, Heat 2 both Comets got same flyers, and red light flashed on momentarily, but heat was allowed to run, Then in heat 13, again perfect start from Garrity, but pulled back and then disexcludified and had to go off 15 metres, This not sour grapes, only want referees to be consistent in their decision making. -

Redcar V Berwick Ch 4th May

At present our top four and probably the best reserve in the league are doing a job, albeit a good job, but teams don't win much when two members are not up to it, granted Coty was brought in as a replacement and is doing his best, but I, like the majority of Bears fans are disappointed with the form of Richard, a man of his experience should not be scoring 1 point in meetings, I don't know what the problem is, I have no idea about bike settings or mechanics, so is he riding on a track too small for his liking. However I hope he does sort himself out so he can help us maintain our good start to this season. -

Solve the Worral problem by soaking the track before the start, he was pretty slow for Newcastle until the track dried out, and as to the score 49-41 will do me -
Like quite a few of the old guard, after the dross served up at the STeMP in the last few years I found other things to do, but on seeing and hearing of changes down their, I decided to return this season to give it a go, and I'm glad I did. The whole set up has improved and their is an air of optimism about the place. I met up with Halifaxtiger again last night but had to look twice as the softie was wearing long trouser on this balmy night, didnt look right, but he is a gentleman and a pleasure to know. As to the meeting, I was apprehensive before the start because the Diamonds normally go well here, so what a difference a team of entertainers and fighters makes, we gated like Bats out of Hell and flew into a massive lead. They did come back into the match midway through, but the heats 13 and 15 sorted out the men from the boys, both Jason and Ben look unbeatable in those heats, and the were ably backed up by Wright, Anderson, and I thought man of the match Ellis Perks, Coty did try, the only downside was the form of Richard Hall, overall well pleased with the start to this season.

Was thinking about coming up but with 4 changes to the original team, think its a farce, why not cancel and rearrange. -

The Bears have a good racing team this year which will entertain or upset a lot of teams and some supporters, however we have lost some strength at number 2 with the injury to Toby, and I don't think GARCIA is an able replacement, I hope I am wrong but he has scored only 1 point in his two meetings which is on par with Joni Keskenen!. It will be a good meeting on Thursday with a Bears win by 8 points.(Forever the optimist) -
Well the question is "Toby or not Toby"

I think this tie will depend on how Richie Hall does, we may lose points due to the absence of Toby and Ellis, but if Richie finds some form it could compensate for that, and as I think our top three will score well it boils down to reserves winning matches as always -

Didn't Mr Hall help to win the league for Panthers about 7 years ago, so I am sure he will have not lost all of his will to win -

Is Toby available for this meeting or is it RR already -
After a couple of seasons absence I returned last night to see the difference to the track, surroundings, and team that has been built by KK and his clan, and it was a pleasant surprise. The most important was the riders, who all looked as though they were enjoying the start to the season, and if they can keep this up will shock some of the doubting Thomas,s. All of the staff are now recognisable through the armbands they wear which was a help to the newcomers and their questions. I am now looking forward to supporting them once more. It was also a pleasure to speak to the White Knight (Ian) again on his return from the wilderness.

Ian, you would be more than welcome to return to the STeMP, A few of us oldies would want you here to make us look and feel younger!

How about the manufacturers instruction sheet for Swarfega, "protective gloves to be worn when using this product" -
Reference the above post, if the track can be made into the racers track which it was in the first few seasons, the racing should be second to none in this league
-
I for one, will be making a return to Redcar to see the new set up and hopefully stay for the foreseeable future, .
-
Pleased with what has been announced, will attend start of the season, if only to see Halifaxtigers legs again, can see Hall and Busch exchanging places often enough to strengthen reserve scoring
-
Of course track grading would have to be adjusted to not damage the system, and don't stock cars run on air filled tyres, so any problems can be overcome if promoters want to try.
