Having just learned of the very sad loss of Deon I recall back in the late 1980s, when my son packed up riding speedway, we contacted Deon having read in Speedway News he was struggling to get some equipment together. He came to our house and we gave him all the equipment we had at the time. A complete bike with Weslake engine, and clothing. I hope it contributed in some way toward helping his career in the UK. Belated condolences to his family and friends.
