Fantastic meeting and fantastic performance from both teams. Haven't enjoyed a meeting like that for a long time. I would have still gone home happy if we had been beaten as the meeting was fantastic. Hats off to Clegg and Wethers for the Diamonds and Josh Pickering for the Monarchs. I'm not sure what the criteria is for the 90th Anni meeting but send that boy an invite. Great debut by Ulrich, looks a good addition based on that performance, had my doubts about Starke after his first ride, too much head shaking, but put on a fine show and performance. Well done the Monarchs as well, it takes two teams to make a semi final and you certainly played your part. Hopefully we can kick on from here.

He's available every Sunday, unfortunately. Outscored tonight by someone we could have had and knows Brough well. -

That looks like Edinburgh have just booked a place in the Semi Final. -
I would hardly call Joe Owen a slacker!! Who was the slacker, I assume Robbie Foy? I used to think that and then looked at old programmes and he was not bad, just when you compare him to the other 6 it looked like he was. Oh, how I would love a time machine to go back to those days.

So by that statement are you saying that as his Dad owns part of the club, he is guaranteed a place for life?

No, I'm saying we appear to keep making changes without actually correcting the true problem which is we have a reserve who is, pardon my french f*****g sh**e and should have been replaced weeks/months ago. Why bring in Bukhave to replace Lambert if you were just gonna sack him a few weeks later. Week after week Phillips under performs home and away but that seems to be OK and nothing is done. We will get the same old, no one is around that is better than him, Connor Coles is and was better than him in my opinion. I was never Bukhave's biggest fan and questioned his signing, but I feel really sorry for the lad, he has come in, ridden his heart out and then appears to have been told to do one. I've been a Diamonds fan for a bloody long time now and I really think this will be my last year. Good Luck Jacob in wherever you end up and welcome Ulrich, I'm sure you'll do a gr8 job.

Bollocks, its nepotism!!! I feel really sorry for Bukhave, he has come in and done a pretty decent job and yet he gets the boot and Phillips stays, don't understand it personally. Yes people will say with Clegg dropping to reserve, it could make us stronger but they have still not dealt with the real issue in that the team are having to carry Phillips week after week.
-
How the f**k does Phillips keep his spot and yet Bukhave has to go, Bukhave in the meetings he has ridden been head and shoulders above Phillips. Joke, absolute!!!

Good night for Palovaara at Edinburgh tonight.

If we can get him for Danny Phillips, I'm in!!!

Newcastle Speedway just tweeted that they visited TynemouthRNLI and for supporters to keep a look out for when they will be working together again. Call them now, our ship is sinking and we need help, man the lifeboats.

Phillips has to go, end of.

Hoping we get some news on 90th Anni meeting today, very quiet from promotion in terms of this meeting. Should be a showcase meeting as not many teams get to 90 years. -

If he doesn't a massive alarm should be going off in the management's head. Mind u I think one of them is deaf when it comes to things like that. -
Great performance and result by the Diamonds. Excellent to see Bjerre back to his best and producing the sort of performance we all know he is capable of week in week out. Really impressed with Clegg, since the moment he has first turned a wheel for us at the start of the season he has done nothing but impress. I thought he would struggle initially at No. 2 but appears to have taken to it like a duck to water and if he continues to trap like that will be hard to beat around Brough. The rest of the team all contributed which is good to see, not sure about this blaming the track lark, looked and seemed OK from where I was standing. Berwick were really poor, especially NBJ who is usually good to watch around Brough. Once again really impressed with Flint, great prospect and just seems to get on with it, I think if a few of the others in the Berwick team had adopted that mentality last night, the score may have been closer or the racing at least. Hopefully we get to see Flint at Brough again as he seems to improve every time he comes. Onto the Monarchs next (in the cup) and it would be nice to have weekly speedway instead of this fortnighty speedway we are getting, still can't grumble (even though I just have) as it could be worse.

Got nothing to do with whether I have or have not. This is what this guy does for a job/chosen career and has no doubt spent a number of years training to be a professional speedway rider so should be fairly proficient at it. My comment is merely that the last time he rode he didn't exactly set the league on fire and I hope he has improved as if he hasn't, then what does he add to our current team, or better still, what does he offer that we were not already getting from Simon. By the way, I could ask you too the same question and the majority of the people on this forum have probably never ridden a speedway bike but I was not aware that it was a pre-requisite of joining this fans forum. But hey-ho
-
That was me being polite as well!!!
-
I hope he has improved dramatically since his Bears days as he was f*****g rubbishe when he rode for them.
-
Also if you look at the time he recorded in that race with Josh it was still 4 seconds slower than the reserves race. Even if you say it was not a competitive race, 4 seconds is still a lot.

I don't think you'll need him to be honest!! Can't see the Diamonds troubling the Lions in this one.
