When I was a boy watching Exeter speedway in the 60’s the track record at one point was 73.4 by the Australian Jack Scott (hope memory is working!) Then at some point someone discovered some old records which showed Goog Hoskins had recorded 72.0. This stood for some time and I certainly regarded it as incredibly quick. Long track, Banked track and Fast track. Shame it’s not still there. At least we have the Chiefs , awesome!
