The speedway is financed by Jamie Courtney, I wasn’t aware Boothby had anything to do with the speedway. Surprised he put any money into it.

What have you heard?

Redcar (40) vs Oxford (50) - KO Cup S/F - 6/9
BackInTheDHSS replied to Bojangles's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Ouch. The loss of Heeps and Jenkins could be massive. Definitely make Redcar favourites to progress on the back of this. Jenkins loves it there, and Heeps isn't half bad either. Much depends on Boughen, if he can score double figures that might be the difference. Going to be close either way I think. -
As @iainb said, I think his 100% effort in every race has been appreciated. He never once gave up in a race, always tried.
-
Agreed. Would be welcome back I’m sure. Also a genuinely nice guy that the whole team seemed to enjoy riding with.

King’s Lynn 2024 serious team predictions
BackInTheDHSS replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I think it’s fair to say that some riders respond well to riding at certain tracks, and others don’t. Same goes for coaching methods and equipment. Having the means for investment is also a huge factor. There’s no magic formula, otherwise everybody would follow it. -
Oxford vs Glasgow Aug 21st
BackInTheDHSS replied to Anzum's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Yeah, I can appreciate that. And I’m all for giving it to them on the right occasion, but seems strange to me when one rider was SO dominant last night and was head and shoulders above everybody else. -

While I thought Coles was excellent, I’d love to know what more Masters could have done to get it? He was untouchable. -

To give Connor Coles rider of the night when Sam Masters scored a maximum is preposterous. -

Only as a 28-day injury replacement for Worrall. -
They are still English, though. No amount of trying to be right can take that away from them.
-
I love the people on here saying they are glad they didn’t go. Yet all the people who did go seemed to enjoy themselves. Perhaps it’s just not quite the same on TV huh?

Bigger club and a better race track.

Oxford v Plymouth - 7th August
BackInTheDHSS replied to jbell1995's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Last year Poole lost 52-38 at Oxford and I watched some of their fans leave after the 5-1 in heat 12. Last year Plymouth lost 59-31 at Oxford and I watched their fans singing and chanting until the end. No comparison. -
A quick question.... Adam Roynon was signed on a 28-day injury replacement for Henry Atkins, which expired on 19 July. Would Oxford have had to sign him permanently before they'd completed 75% of their fixtures for him to now race for the Cheetahs?
-
They’ve got to make the change by Wednesday, no? That’s when they will have completed 75% of their fixtures I think (15 of 20 league and BSN). Can’t see anything happening that quickly, so will likely to just be Jody Scott guesting most of them.

Championship Pairs Oxford 16th August 2024
BackInTheDHSS replied to Triple.H.'s topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I meant purely from a performance perspective. He's scored maximums at Oxford, but hasn't impressed in his most reason visits. He was pretty poor when Workington visited this season. Oh, and I had forgotten all about his antics at the Pairs last year. He'll definitely need to be better than that! -
Oxford v Birmingham Thursday 1st August PL

Too late now unfortunately. Which is probably a good thing - stops Jody Scott coming in to replace Rohan Tungate. -

Will Worrall not be back? Thought he was scheduled for return around August 10th? If he's not fit, Glasgow won't be taking third. -
Heard a rumour at Oxford last night that Tom Brennan might be Premiership only next season.

1st: Oxford 2nd: Redcar 3rd: Glasgow Oxford's to lose. Nicholls and Masters are near unbeatable at home. Redcar and Glasgow to fill the podium. Workington in with an outside shout as they both have plenty of track experience - obviously depending if Batchelor turns up. Poole would surely be stronger with Tom Brennan, especially with how he rode last night. -

Be interesting to see how Etherington does. Is this his first meeting in the NDL?
