  1. I first started watching speedway in 1987,and I've seen the top division, in whatever guise,at its brilliant best,so seeing it how it is now with woefully watered down teams,is really sad. The promoters need to realise that having the top riders is just as important as developing the young riders, otherwise there won't be a top league in a few years time.
  2. So no new measures brought in to try and encourage the world's best riders back over here then? People actually want to see the top riders in action, crowds are falling and it's no longer attractive to pay the best part of £20 or more to see the best Grade B riders and a few youngsters racing against each other.
  3. I'm guessing the new Swindon stadium will be completed at around the same time as the re-developed Odsal, you know, the one that closed at the end of 1997 for a 2 year redevelopment, due to re-open in 2000.
  4. Just noticed that, although I've just checked Eurosport's website and its still showing as 6am, maybe the planner is wrong?
  5. It's the 10th staging though, not the 10th anniversary is it! If you got married in 2001 you wouldnt celebrate your 10th anniversary until 2011
  6. The other obvious error is that they are referring to next years GP as its 10th anniversary. Wrong! The first Cardiff GP was in 2001, so its 10th anniversary would be 2011
  7. Absolutely, I dont think the other girls had much of a look in all night, although she was very easy on the eye
  8. Since 2002 I've had virtually the same seats. 2nd tier on the 3rd and 4th bend. I love the view, its amazing how close to the track you actually feel. The only downside to that view is that you're sometimes waiting on the video replay to see who has won the close races. Like last year where I had £80 riding on whether Greg Hancock had crossed the line ahead of Leigh Adams in the final, luckily he had
  9. I agree, the coverage is a whole lot poorer thanks to Julia's absence, for somebody who had never seen speedway before she presented the show with enthusiasm and plenty of personality, as well as striking up a seemingly brilliant rapport with the riders, some more than others, not mentioning any names Mr.Sullivan
  10. All I can say is thats a downright disgrace, 3.45AM? If only the Beeb would buy the rights to it, at least then there'd be the chance of it being shown on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Channel 4 are only interested in a bunch of idiots locked in a house 24/7, that and yet more repeats of Friends
  11. I can remember back in around 1988 when Sudden Sam played Pool and Darts against Steve Bull in a kind of "Clash of Wolverhampton's 2 Biggest Sport Stars" type thing. I think Bully won at both games but I'm not 100% sure.
  12. Sorry guys, I know there's a post somewhere detailing when each GP will be shown on Channel 4, but I just cant find it. Ever since Cardiff I've been keeping an eye on the tv schedules for channel 4's coverage of the British G.P. and every week its been World Rally or Cricket or Friends repeats. But this Sunday it lists Speedway Grand Prix, I thought it finally might be the Cardiff coverage, but according to the TV guide in Nuts magazine its actually the highlights from Parken Can anybody let me know whether this weekends highlights are from Cardiff or Parken and, if the Cardiff highlights have been shown, when were they? Thanks and my apologies again.
  13. Earned me £75 and my bro £15, nice one Greg Norris did brilliantly, was on the pace all night, can be proud of his efforts.
