I was a Wembley Lions follower in 1970 for their all too brief appearances at the lovely old stadium. Reider Eide was a very impressive No 1 for a while.....Gote Nordin came....thrilled...then went....and from a No 2 rider Sverre Harrefeldt became heat leader....scorching around the fencing like he was possessed......from Gate 4 he regularly swept past all before him by the end of turn 2.....Bert Harkins was a solid dependable non flamboyant Captain in a team that included at various times....Dave Jessup...Tony Clarke.....Brian Collins....Brian Leonard.....and Ove Fundin . Great memories
