  1. No multi alias here, just a genuine concern that a few people sitting on their ar**s are giving speedway supporters a bad name.
  2. I really hope that the majority of posters on here do not represent the general speedway supporter! There is so much negativity that, if I were a potential Premier promoter, I would say "I don't think I'll bother". Whatever you think of those who run speedway, they are doing much, much, more than sitting in front of a keyboard, sniping at those who do get off their ar*e and they risk their own money!
  3. Unless you/we/I run a promotion or help to fund it then we have no right to be more than the mushrooms in this situation. Wait and see. If someone invests cash and time into it, then we can enjoy it. If not, and we do nothing constructive ourselves, we have no right to complain when there's no speedway in our town.
  4. He has done so much for speedway, especially in Ipswich. He owes nothing to you or anyone else!
  5. Plenty of lovely ideas but where is the money coming from? Big screens will cost many, many, thousands £ to set up and with most speedway tracks out of town and standing empty most of the time, a lot of paid security would be needed. Where are the youth clubs you refer to? Who pays a younger generation to manage the social media presence? I have attended speedway for over 50 years and recall some of the semi pro days as some of the most entertaining. Given the lack of paying public, nationally, we cannot keep spending money that isn't there. Although it is good to see the GP standard riders every week, once or twice a season, at your home track, would become a rare treat, maybe in the form of a short series of international competitions. The sport in the UK cannot afford GP stars every week, so let's have one big (Championship Level) league plus a junior league for each team. 13 heats for main team and maybe 6 heats for juniors.
  6. I'm always amazed by the comments from those who have never set up any business/sport team about those who have got off their backsides and tried something, often putting their own cash in as well as sponsors.
  7. Maybe it's just a negotiating tactic. He said that he would not support a 5 team Premier League and, possibly, this is the way it looks like going. He might force a change of plan, he might not.
