I was glad to see him get up as it looked a wee bit nasty!

I fancy a 53-37 win for the Monarchs.

He was the King here at Newcastle....watched him when we won the Provincial League title and remember he went many many weeks without a defeat at Brough Park until Colin Pratt of Hckney Hawks beat him...then the next week Pete Jarman of Wolverhampton Wolves beat him. He was my hero and it was a joy to see him at Wembley when he won the 1966 European Championship!...RIP Legend.

It is so sad ....but I fear the Diamonds are going to have a horrible season. I forecast a 53-37 result for Redcar and was not far wrong.

Hope the Diamonds do continue (I believe they definitely will).......but for reasons I have highlighted I won't be there.

I loved the 1960's at Brough Park standing in 7,000 plus crowds....stopped attending in late 1960's and returned in 2000's when I was on holiday in Isle of Wight and ironically found out the diamonds were there that night....since then I have been to a good few away meetings and occasional home....however I was with a friend ldown south interviewing a famous Newcastle footballer and decided to watch the diamonds at Peterborough. The diamonds had their only away win that night but my elation was cut short when me and my mate held a big Newcastle Diamonds flag up as the team came round and we were totally blanked...other things happened that night when we accidentally walked in to the VIP area and we were shopped by a Newcastle person in there...two things which told me to finish going to watch those arrogant persons who rode for us....I also complained about the number of idiots smoking inside Brough Park and also the new craze of vaping!..nothing was done so quite honestly that is me finished....55 years after my first match with my dad. For the sake of people like Tsunami, Dantodan and Mike 7169...I really do hope Speedway continues at Brough Park.

With all the regular injuries....we see 6 man teams a lot now!

One thing I will say about Mike7164 is he is a great supporter and tells it like it is. One thing I would like to say to George is tell your team not to be so bloody ignorant I was ay Peterboriygh with my mate who had not seen the Diamonds since 1969. After we had beaten Peterborough, the team came round on the victory lap and seeing our big Newcastle Diamonds flag being hoisted high with pride by me and my mate...never even waved...ignorant swines!!! My mate was absolutely livid.

Looking forward to it.....think I will set off early instead of the usual rush!

Good meeting ....looking forward to seing my old mate Paulco in the two leg Final with Glasgow.. Also looking forward to seeing one rider who I liked a lot when he was a Diamond...Rene Bach, and also another ex Diamond Richie Worrall, who will be up against brother Steve!

Sad to see so few replies to last night's meeting. My first meeting this season and enjoyed it. I do agree Speedway is sadly losing fans. Last night was well short of the crowd I saw a few seasons ago...Redcar v Newcastle.
