one will be Steve Worrall in my opinion not a lot of experienced prem riders around and probably voulas who did well least season with the Aces
59 minutes ago, StephenMiller said:Hasn't Worrall already stated he isn't interested in riding in the Premiership this year ? Based on last years performances for us that would be a mistake anyway
Steve has done a lot of travelling these last few years so his priorities this year, in no particular order, is his young family, his business & Championship riding. Living 25-30 miles down the road is a no brainer this year.

In NSW Solo Championship, the finishing order was Jack H, Chris H, Ryan D & Zaine K.

1) I knew Pearson didn't want to ride for a weekend track, wasn't sure if he'd want to join a mid-week track though.
2) Joe T can double up in the NDT team, but Bowtell can't.
3) Given that that team comes to 41.86, I would expect it to surprise a few lol!
Joe T should be no where near the NDL now.

You have either got increased commitments or not to drop at a moments notice when required.

Starke even past his best is well capable of sticking a point on his average and possibly two.
Vinnie may have fitted average wise but not with the club image. Big crashes, unable to finish meetings due to no machinery and the crowd incident are all not in keeping with the clubs professional outlook.
Similar could be said of Starke with his preparation & upkeep of his bikes often breaking down.
I seem to remember a meeting last year when he had no bikes running & no "team mate" lent him one.

If the temp reserve has a 2.3 average, he can be replaced by a 2 point rider. If clubs make a single change, they can sign someone on an equal or lower average, don't have to fit under the points limit.
I can't see Paul Starke being the temporary signing as he's 99 likely to score more than his reserve partner (can't think of any 2 point riders who would outscore him).
Oops!. Of course he can. DOH.
Engaging fingers before thinking!

That is true BUT NOT what I said!

This is my take as how I see the last 2 signings unfolding.
If your "temporary" reserve scores a few & goes to a possible 2.3 & Poole increase their team average then how will you fit Cairns in? I think Starke is your temporary signing due to the fact he has a low average but rides WR well & will be expected to score about 5 points knowing he will be paid accordingly for doing his job & allowing Cairns to come in at the end of June.

As was said last year, the naming of the joint team thread is awful & just shows your dissent towards Scunthorpe.
A more appropriate topic name would be Scunfield.

1) The conversation rate is as above Prem x 1.5
2) The most recent average is used, so the 2024 Prem average is converted. As soon as a rider rides one match they revert to their Championship rolling ave.
Last year rolling averages were from 2022-2024, if the 3 year rule continues, then next year it'll be 2023-2025 matches that count.
If this is the case, the 2022 Champ matches will be ignored & the rider would get a new average after 8 matches.
I think rolling averages still apply once you have ridden 1 or more meetings on or before the 23rd of the month.
New or re-assessed riders get new averages after 6 meetings( changed in '24 to take in group BSN meetings)

Is this new regulations this year across all 3 leagues or just tied to National League as I have not seen it anywhere else?
I think there are 5 or 6 silencers to choose from in the 24 reg's & going by performance of the transponders used this last year, they were of a cheaper option & not as good as used abroad.
Why have I mentioned transponders? DOH!

Whilst this may look like an opportunity for more track time for NDL standard riders it looks to me to be another sticking plaster approach just like the promised ‘ more opportunities via individual meetings’ that they said would happen in 2024. The fact was that only three/ four of those meetings actually took place. Whilst we don't know the full make up of teams yet, the fact that they expect riders to double up sets the alarm bells ringing. Some of these NDL riders who appeared in 2024 will not be riding next season for reasons of ‘too good’, retired or simply cant afford it with the new silencers and rev limiters being required ( about £600 to be found per bike ). So already the SIX NDL sides are hunting for riders , some for two or even three . Yes, theres a couple of 15 year olds to come in , but not loads so just where do the rest of them come from ? The TROPHY sides need to find riders willing to ride and also willing to ride mid week and travel , they might yet struggle to find enough riders willing to double up as the rumoured pay rates will not attract riders who hold down a full time job. Fixture planning needs to be very carefully thought through.
Is there a long term plan attached to this idea ? Will current NDL riders be cueing up to get in a Trophy side ?
Let’s hope it thrives…….time will tell.

Why didn't they do a north south divide?
Would make more sense for travelling-but hey ho this is speedway
Because riders are not based in a north/south divide but travel the length & breadth of the country to get rides.

No he isnt, with his ability he should be a 8.5 point rider and was at the start of last season but had a bad season so it dropped. Riding with Lawson I expect him to get back to at least that level, he is a top rider in the championship, just needs to show it.
23 hours ago, LisaColette said:Yep, agree with that. Feel like the 3 and 4 position is important to get right. Zach and Anders should be putting a point on their average imo.
22 hours ago, foreverblue said:Yes Zach and Anders should be improvers so should Tobias who was averaging well above his average at the end of last season but I also think kerr should be able to improve on his current average too.
How do you think Lawson will get on with his average being his highest for a few years?
He is normally a team man & will let his partner take the higher points but for some reason he is now settled with a 9+ point average which will limit his guest appearances.

The advert has a moto X bike. Are there a lot of grasstrack bikes? Do they have speedway bikes there?
From memory, I think ex Scorpion Scott Anderson raced there on a speedway bike but it is for ALL bikes & I mean ALL.
I once saw a Laverda Jota raced there. It was that quick at acceleration to the straights it nearly always went wide in the corners.

Prefer to have riders that also ride in the prem as otherwise they not riding enough to be in good form imo.
More so with minimal amount of meetings. 2 possibly 3 meetings a month is not enough. imo

Lambo is part of the team I’m sure as he’s invested in new equipment for 2025
he will need more than new equipment. On the slippery slope downhill I’m afraid.
He had a good season in '23 & last year was curtailed by his illness, pneumonia, of which he had for over 2 months but still rode with it.
He DID NOT let the Scorpions down!

16 hours ago, thebaron said:That adds substance to the team we have put forward on this thread.
I suppose point for point Lambo on 5 83 (after 2.5% reduction) is good value certainly around Scunny.
Going with a top two of Worrall and Jake, will increase the need for Connor and Lambo to step it up certainly looking to the Big Heats.
With the above I cannot see us going for a 2-3 point reserve. It gives weight to the idea that we are bringing in two reserves who can add to their averages. The Kennedys, Zaine 4.27 & Declan 4.00 would surely fit that requirement
Then with Luke 4.32 up in the 1-5 and very capable of adding 2pts to that we have a declared Team CMA of 39.33.
Its looks a competive line up. Lots to look forward to in 2025.
If Luke rides at no2 with our top no1 then I would not expect to see an improvement in average but track skills, yes.
I would, also, think that he & the 2 reserves will fluctuate between the 3 riding positions throughout the season.

Drawn against Sheffield in Prem ko cup first round and against Plymouth in Championship ko cup (surprise, surprise)!!
At least that was probably a "draw" in the Premiership.
Anyone else think there was no draw in Championship KO & just made it regionalised?

I am surprised some of the "privalged ones", the sponsors, have not let anything slip out from the AGM.
The silence is deafening!

I find it hard to believe B. V. would build a team over 40 points. Pure speculation.

Luke has just had his 1st year of CL racing & his 2nd at NDL level.
Joe Thompson should not have been trebling up this last year.
Who are the 2 riders?
