First Mt Gambier is NOT in the middle of nowhere, its in the City of Mt Gambier in South Australia 2nd it has an airport about 15 mins drive from the city 3rd its in the limecoast region with plenty to see and do 4th If people like wine there are plenty of winerys 5th there are plenty of pubs 6th plenty of hotels in the area, not just Mt Gam just because you dont know a place dont put it down Myself i go for Wayville showgrounds...

  5. Hi I would think that now that Wembley has been finished being built the UK would get 2 GP. Either 1 The English GP at Wembley 2 The European GP at Cardiff Andy

  8. Just a thought ...If you were BSI and running the GP and there was a new Stadium would you not want to get in and be the first company to hold a speedway meeting at Wembley...think of all that money coming in. And not from Reading either

  10. Hi I did notice the possible Aussie team, by the time it comes around Sam Martin will be 16yo and i would think that the injuries he had will be healed up and could be inclued in the team. Andy

Hi Yes it was Roman Jankowski who had a infulance on the Glass trophie as i got the first one whe i went to Poland with the Hackney team back in 1980 for 3 meetings and after the meeting at Leszno the club gave to the dope and oil boys a glass trophie as a thank you , as the riders got there prizes when they rode in the meetings. When i went to Poland in 2000 Roman gave to me a keep sake from a friend (RJ). Polish Glass is good and is hand made. I feel that a glass trophie as a change from the other types of Trophies and they do look good. Roman has a lot of them from his riding days. Andy

  16. Yes indeed i did sponsor the main trophies on Sat night, and the young kids liked them. It make them all feel that someone out there thinks of Sidewinders, and what they are doing is good. It my way of giving something back to Speedway for the years of enjoyment. Was it Josh Munro's Dad

For those who may be intrested 13 March 2004 Last night, Sidewinders result There was a meeting for the SA State Team (pairs) Championship Result 1st Jason Norman 3 3 3 3 3 & R Brandford 2 F 0 1 B/Tapes Total 18pts 2nd J Hepburn 3 3 3 3 E/X & A Dennis 1 1 1 F 2 Total 17pts 3rd Josh Munro 1 F 2 2 3 & Robert Medson 2 2 1 1 2 Total 16pts 4th Ryan Sedgeman 2 2 F/X 3 3 & Arthur Sissis 0 1 3 0 1 Total 15pts The Silver Helmet race was with 8 riders with riders going off a Handicap some meters behind the starting gate was won by D Liersch, after a number of riders falling. There was also some junior sidecar racing which was fast and furious and some close racing. Andy

  19. there is a old antique shop in Adalaide that i know that has old speedway stars for sale. Dont know what years but 1970's onwards.....any one intrested.
  20. Anyone know what happened to the Hackney riders from 1971 till closeing for the last time, eg Dave Morton,Dag Loaavas,Finn Thomsen, Keith White Barry Thomas etc

  22. hi I have the Thames TV Progrom on tape BUT its on Betamax format, it was shown live from Hackney, it has Bruce Penhall winning it, I might be able to get it put onto VHS.....let me know off line at handyandy@rbm.com.au Andy
