Why wasn't this picked up and rectified ? Seems the whole show was run by a bunch of unprofessional clowns. -

Starman2006 replied to Tigerish's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good result for the Rebels last night, certainly thought they were capable of it. Benji is better than what he's showing, spent a lot of money on equipment during the winter, must be a reason for his poor showing. -

Yep that was dangerous, and un-ridable due to the rain. That was the right decision. Thats a fair point. You can have as much practice as you like on a conventional track, but a temperary track is going to cut up. But, if the track is given time to bed in ie a week, you are going to minimise the risk. The problem you have is practice is ALWAYS on a friday the day before, so it gives the curators no time to pull the track back and let it sit. IF, you had practice on the Thursday, that would give it a little more time, but thats just not practical. But they should still lightly blade grade spike water and roll and roll on the day. -

Its time mate, you cannot lay a temperary track anywhere in 3 days and expect it to hold up, it just won't happen, simple as that. They actually LAY the track and give it a week to bed in, providing the shale is not soaked you will see a far better track. once its laid graded and rolled leave it to bed in. Then, you can lightly spike it lightly water it, then roll and roll again, from outside to inside. but as i said, unless you get decent shale you are wasting your time. Edinburgh red shale is by far the best. Yep fair point, one behind the other. And so there should be. But, they need testing, and testing again. -

All i will say to the organisers is, get Cardiff right, even if it means getting in there a few days earlier and letting the track bed in. Get TWO starting gates in, don't cut corners and do everything properly. Me, id get the Doc down from Wolvehampton to oversee the track prep. I would also suggest that somebody from authority goes and checks the state of the shale that is going to Cardiff !! -

Riders will give anything a go, but there comes a point where it becomes to dangerous. You cannot argue with them, they ride the track, the So called track curators come experts who sit in the stands don't. Anybody who has thrown his or her leg over a speedway bike will know the feeling with all that power between your legs, and you hit a really bad rut at that sort of speed you'l be through the airfence and in most cases through the chicken wire and come out the other side as chips. Now, im not for one minute saying that the riders are totally exhonerated, but i still say it was a poor poor show for the fans that were in the stadium, and reguardless of what heat it finished for the purposes of a result whether its to keep the takings and appease the riders the bookmakers, which those who backed the outright winner or one for the frame would have lost their money. you could say its the equivelent of a 16 runner h'cap reduced to 15 so first 4 suddenly becomes first 3, how many times do you see that ? From a bookmakers perspective theres not a lot you can do about it, but those in the stadium have been vastly short changed, and i still believe if those patrons have kept their credit card details or ticket stubs they should be compensated in some way or another by the organisers. problem nowadays is, money comes into everything. -

If thats the case then so beit. You cannot lay a temparary track in 3 days and expect it not to cut up badly. You have the choice, either you have more time for the track curators to lay a track at the venue, giving the track more time to bed in, or its a rush job profit before speedway and you end up with what you had last Saturday. I think i know what the fans and riders would prefere.. -

Starman2006 replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Nothing to do with that. Its time and giving the track chance to bed in , then keep rolling it. lightly spike it lightly water then keep rolling it. but if you have crap for shale, your wasting your time whatever you do. But trying to put an indoor temporary track in in 3 days or a week is madness. you need time. and track before profit. Saturday proved, if you don't have the stage, that's what you'll get... -

I think SCB was still cracking his teeth on rusks, or wasn't even thought of when OLSEN was riding... Good rider he Was, doesn't make him suitable for the job he has.. Many good footballers turn to management, doesn't mean to say they'll make good managers. And if they don't produce the goods what happens to them ? -

Sidney its not just you mate. Gavan seems to have a problem, with anybody who has an opinion, especially if they come from Poole. Im just wondering if he and Bwitcher are the same person or brothers. They both have the same aggressive personallity. even if you are right, and you put up a valid post. which they would ignore, and find something else to dicect get their teeth into.. Quite sad really. But then... -
