tomazpozrl
Hi guys! Just wanted to inform you that EasyJet will start a direct line from London Stansted to Ljubljana in May. This might be interesting for all of you who are thinking of coming to Krsko for Slovenian Grand Prix in September. I checked their website and the return flight from Stansted to Ljubljana and back to Stansted would cost you only 46 pounds for one person. The flight is on Friday at 12.45 pm , and the return flight is on Sunday at 16.15 pm from Ljubljana. This is much cheaper than Slovenian Airline company Adria Airways that flies to Gatwick for 162 pounds per person. I also checked Ryan Air, but they don't have direct lines to Ljubljana. They fly to some of the Italian and Austrian airports and the only comparable flight to EasyJet is the one to Venice on Friday morning (6am from Stansted) and then the return flight on Sunday Evening (10pm) for around 23 pounds per person. All other Ryan Air flights are much more expensive. And of course Venice is much farther from Krsko than Ljubljana. jeffster
Thats great news, Tomaz... May also make it cheaper for the Reading & Newcastle promotions to fly Messrs. Zagar & Ferjan to / from Slovenia....

tomazpozrl
Hi Jeffster! You can try slovenian railway company (Slovenske Zeleznice) website: http://www.slo-zeleznice.si Click on ENGLISH, then INFORMATION, then NATIONAL TIMETABLE. A window will open where you need to enter starting and finishing point of your journey. As VSTOPNA POSTAJA enter Ljubljana, and as IZSTOPNA POSTAJA enter Krsko and then click on ISKANJE POVEZAVE. A list of all trains that connect Ljubljana and Krsko will open. Please note that all the trains that have a word DA under OPOMBA column DO NOT drive on Saturdays, Mondays and during holidays period. So appropriate trains from Ljubljana to Krsko on GP weekend are: 6:50 , 8:35 , 10:50 , 15:50 , 18:50 and 21:05 You can of course use others too, but only if you plan to come to Krsko on Friday. For the return journey from Krsko to Ljubljana, instead of clicking on ISKANJE POVEZAVE, click on POVEZAVE NAZAJ. Appropriate trains for you to return to Ljubljana from Krsko are: 5:57 , 7:17 , 8:24 , 11:18 , 13:17 , 18:23 , 21:53 The journey from Ljubljana to Krsko last around 1h 40 minutes, but it depends on the type of train (local, intercity, ...). I just received some additional info about prices : One way ticket from Ljubljana to Krsko costs : 1180 SIT = 4.96 Euros = 3.33 British pounds . Return (2 way) ticket from Ljubljana to Krsko and back to Ljubljana costs : 1650 SIT = 6.94 = 4.66 British pounds . I hope this helps. If you want to know anything else, regarding the prices, type of the trains or anything else, just let me know ans I'll try to search for you. Kevin Meynell
Just wanted to inform you that EasyJet will start a direct line from London Stansted to Ljubljana in May. I also checked Ryan Air, but they don't have direct lines to Ljubljana. Tomaz, Excellent. Adria is a ripoff airline and discourages people from travelling to what is a very nice country. Budget airlines generally only fly to EU/EEA countries which have open skies arrangements rather than bilateral arrangements (which usually means a national carrier duopoly). Of course, Slovenia will join the EU on 1 May which I guess is why EasyJet are starting to fly there.
Kevin Meynell
The journey from Ljubljana to Krsko last around 1h 40 minutes, but it depends on the type of train (local, intercity, ...). Alternatively you could fly to Zagreb (in Croatia) and take the train from there. It's closer than Ljubljana, and Croatian Airlines sometimes offer cheap flights.
