TheSmiler
The more I see it, the more I think Oxford will be bottom of the league in 2025. My thoughts are changing daily at the moment, currently I’d put it. Top 4 in any order (with Ipswich top): Ipswich, Kings Lynn, Belle Vue, Sheffield 5. Birmingham 6. Leicester 7. Oxford

Col
Belle Vue, Ipswich & Sheffield will make the play offs Leicester have a better team than Kings Lynn as it stands... hoping Oxford & Brummies can be contenders. I really don't get the love for that Kings Lynn team. I've loved watching Bomber & NKI over the years but they're both in their 40's and are not reliable double points scorers these days. Cook is some way off a #1 as is Kvech. Lawson is a solid engine room rider but nothing more and will be starting his downward arc and Klindt will be injured out for the season by the end of May in all likelihood. TTT
1. IPSWICH (Only injuries can stop them from a clean sweep of trophies in 2025) 2. BELLE VUE (Despite the downgrade from Ben Cook to Zach Cook they still look like the best of the rest on paper) 3. KING'S LYNN (Write them off at your peril but this 1-7 is rock solid and it's a play-off side for sure imo) 4. LEICESTER (Originally I didn't have Leicester down for a play-off spot but other teams have some serious question marks over them) 5. SHEFFIELD (The tail end is far too weak to do anything on the road, Winning Bonus Points will be a struggle imo) 6. BIRMINGHAM (Have put together a good side but it's a lot of riders returning to Britain and it could take a while for them to settle back in) 7. OXFORD (Gilkes rumoured to be the No.6 and if it happens then Oxford will be at least 2.00 under the limit even if they do get a No.1) Edited November 30 by TTT

Is there a rider you don’t think is on a downward arc? Nothing to suggest Lawson will be anything but a continued solid rider and he’s better round Lynn than anywhere else, king Lynn look a solid outfit, potential for a couple to make a step forward to higher level and several seasoned riders, avoiding injuries will be key but I rate them above Leicester for sure

Hard to judge Oxford with question marks over their final signings, but the rumours of Gilkes make no sense. Someone like Sedgmen at reserve with an 8.00 number one & they're chasing a top 4 spot. Nothing to suggest Lawson will be anything but a continued solid rider. I'm fairly adamant I've predicted Bewley, Lidsey, Rew, Brennan, Blodorn, Janowski & a fair few others will improve their starting averages. Lawson must be early-mid 30's, he ain't getting any better than a solid engine room rider. His average may increase as he won't be riding with a rider as good as Fricke for 3 of his programmed rides. Stars don't have a rider as good as Fricke in their septet
GiveusaB
Out of the top 4 teams from last season, Ipswich are the only ones that have strengthened imo.... so it's Ipswich v BV final.... Ipswich to win!
Arch Stanton
If you could guarantee that every team would stay injury free then we SHOULD be winning because Ipswich have the best team on paper but we had the best team on paper this year and look what happened. Speedway is a bit of a lottery in that regard. It isn’t like football where you have a squad of 25 players and bring a quality player in when one of your first teamers pulls a hamstring and it makes little difference to the team structure. All it takes in this sport is to lose one of your important heatleaders and it completely derails your season. Belle Vue had issues with Kurtz mid season, but were at full strength when it mattered and took advantage of other’s misfortunes. The same will be the case next year. You need a bit of luck to reach September when the pots are handed out with your full side still intact. IF Ipswich enter the play offs with the same 1-7 that starts the season, then we’ll win it.

Have to disagree with your opinion of Lawson, he has a higher average than the 3rd heat leaders at both Ipswich & Belle Vue, yet only a "solid engine room rider"? He may go downhill, but also may not. Many riders can keep performing as they get older these days. As for Bomber & NKI I agree they're not "reliable double points scorers" but that's the beauty of the Lynn team, they have 6 riders who could score double figures, their riders don't need to do it in every match.

You are correct that Lawson has an higher average than the no. three's at Ipswich & The Aces....but well off their respective top two riders who he will meet in three of his four programmed rides...plus heat 15! Similarly, ten points maybe possible in some meetings, but they have six riders who could also score six point each....However, they will always have a strong number six which may help matters. Overall, whilst its good to see the Stars having a more reliable look about them than in 2024 a play off place may be just beyond their reach...but will cause one or two upsets.
