I’m pretty sure that Workington have their team sorted or almost sorted for 2026. The fact that Jacob Hook announced he won’t be back shows exactly that. That could mean one of two things. 1. The team is fully complete and it doesn’t include Jacob 2. The team has 2 riders still to sign, and it isn’t possible for Jacob to be one of them as his average is too high. For this to be the case, the 5th rider to have signed must be between an average of 7.68 and 8. Can only think of Drew Kemp and Craig Cook who fit that criteria. If there was still a chance mathematically that Jacob could come back, they wouldn’t give him a definitive answer like they have done. Interesting.

I think it is safe to assume, teams are all sorted, we will be as you were in the Championship and we will have a highly undesirable 5 team Premiership. As usual the AGM will change nothing. 

Trying not to be negative to speedway and the Comets promotion, BUT at the moment clubs are following rules talked about, but until the postponed AGM in early January, nothing is totally agreed and signed off, , and could change drastically if the rubbish hits the fan with the top league 🤔 so maybe the comets have a team sorted and signed, but are waiting until after the AGM to confirm things.

There may be logic in someone's eyes, as I noted, I'm all for building suspense, but at the moment the narrative is being led by others, rather than the club, with no input/announcements from the club. For example; Hooky has announced he isn't returning; Comets haven't announced anything, and haven't even had the good graces to thank him publicly for last year. Same with Jye.  Whether individual fans, like, love, or loath previous years riders, the optics and publicity from a club could be soooo much better, rather than complete radio silence.
