  1. we need Smolinski back in the GP, he said even when he sits on the toilet he is thinking. the crafty German would find a mathmatical advantage in all the stats.
  2. the quicker riders will love it as they will get a bigger advantage over the slower riders on gate picks. what is the point with that if we want to see exciting racing.
  3. http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/7269/ Agree with Keith. We are now giving the fastest rider the chance to pick the best staring position. No sense in that to give open and close racing. Formula One puts the fastest car at the front and we have zero over taking. Rubbish. This is a statisticians dream to calculate the best gate permutation at each GP track. Can there be a No1 best gate pick at any track ? If there isn't any advantage this seems a waste of time and effort. Unless I'm convinced by other posters I'm thinking riders will only be wanting to avoid having a particular gate twice at some tracks. Or more importantly any starting number that means they have to ride all 5 races after a track grade. EDIT - told this is Postion 1 only After the 2019 season I'll be interested to know what effect having first pick or last pick on gates has on overall results.
  4. from Grudziadz website Speedway Ekstraliga in agreement with TV stations, which in the season 2019 will be broadcasting the matches of the strongest league in the world gave the opening hours of matches. Let us remind you that all the PGE Ekstraliga matches will be seen in nSport + and Eleven Sports. Friday's meetings will be broadcast by Eleven Sports. Fixed opening hours throughout the season will be 18:00 and 20:30 . Slightly different playing times will be on Sunday, those broadcast by nSport +. In April, May, June and September, the start of the meetings is scheduled for 16:00 and 19:00 . In the summer months, i.e. July and August, the start of Sunday duels will take place half an hour later - at 16:30 and 19:30 .
  5. Is Ostrow v Lezsno full strength sides or do they mix it up a bit to make it worthwhile.
  6. I'm having trouble translating it but two meetings at Ostrow, one a Championship. http://www.polskizuzel.pl/super-mecz-oraz-final-mppk-ostrowie/
  7. 12 July at 19:00 the sixth edition of PGE Individual International championship Ekstraliga will take place at the track in Gdansk Poor translation but the message gets across
  8. Rybnik announced some training fixtures in March. 16 Away at Opole 17 Opole 22 Away at Torun 23 Torun 24 Zielona Gora 26 Lejonen 29 Away at Z.G.
  9. a mixture of close and no where near close. will you refund my flights and hotel costs for Riga ? had also booked for No Idea in Poand on 26/06
  10. If understanding the translation it's 6 x League 1 teams plus a host from Extraleague or League 2 as a wild card.
  11. That comes as no surprise as there isn't any major speedway track anywhere near Warsaw.
  12. Try Airbnb.co.uk search for Warsaw and you may find a fan.
  13. This official website would disagree about March and April https://www.australia.com/en/facts-and-planning/weather-in-australia/weather-in-brisbane.html
  14. Did Torun sell out completely in 2018 as it was the last GP that year too ? And Woffy looked likely to be Champion from some way out.
  15. Agreed. Happy to call it a sporting draw but I'm not naive as the riders will have to get some of the extra money. Might be plenty of Polish fans who'll pay to attend 2 meetings each weekend in 2019. An idea for a Travel Plus Tour maybe ?
  16. I keep saying 2 because its 2. Fact. If we get a rain off it could increase but its 2 now. Who says they would use a Friday for a replacement ? Maybe if all 4 meetings go kuput on the same weekend but that is so rare. Keep some stats and we'll chat again after Torun. You can't use hypothetical rain off's as part of the argument just to suit.
  17. Two new TV deals have given a huge amount of extra revenue over the contract period. R&R gave the values earlier in the thread, sigificant sums of money generated just from TV and more will come from sponsors because every match is live. Riders are not fools as they are the stars of the show and will argue there worth What makes you think the riders are not earning more given the huge rise in income due to these contracts ? If the riders are earning more, the clubs are earning more, there is more sponsorship coverage, the opportunity for more sponsors is obvious due to live TV - if you find that hard to swallow - there is no hope !! You refuse to embrace the postive and only mention the negative. I'm setting the balance and it is FOR 2 GP'S ONLY.
  18. Riders have had bad GP's since day one and plenty have made poor excuses. That won't change in the short term. At least they cant blame the track being different in practise to race night so we have one positive. Doubt the 15 riders will be too upset when receiving their increased Extraleague 2019 pay cheque. The Poles could schedule better but they haven't so let's press on. It's 2 GP's not 10. Mountain out of a mole hill.
  19. You're in the minority with your objections. All of which are easily solved. Riders travel from a Saturday evening GP to race in Poland the next afternoon on a regular basis. It's not new. Riders are now earning more money becuase of the new TV contract, there is more exposure for current sponsors, all meetings live on TV so more sponsorship may come into the sport. It's all positive. Its only 2 GP's in 2019. Friday night racing is here to stay. You'll have to accept it and get on with it.
  20. thanks. Liking the positivity which is unlike a few others on here who only want to find reasons not to do something different.
  21. not at the moment but R&R is very confident something will pop up. he'll be sure to update the thread when he spots a fixture.
