  1. The reason why we did not win anything this year was more to do with injuries than Nicki Pedersen. We had David Norris and Dean Barker missing for 90% of the season and then Stefan Andersson just when he had hit form. Add to this absences from Davey Watt and Cameron Woodward for their injuries and the only peron left is Lewis Bridger who should have been scoring at reserve but who has had to cope with riding as a second string. When Nicki was absent we had guests and Davey seemed to go up a geer to cover the main man.
  2. I beg to differ with you Orion ! Nicki has served us well and has had no more absences than any other GP rider apart from genuine injuries. I am glad that he is looking to negotiate a new contract with the Eagles for 2008
  3. Well done Nicki. A great win. The Eagles are truly proud of you.
  4. Chris was far too busy showing us how to ride Arlington
  5. Glad the weather is better in Coventry than in East Kent. It is tipping down at the moment. Good luck Team Britain.
  6. Well of course if Nicki is involved he always gets the blame.
  7. Well done Nicki on another great performance. You are on your way to World Champion 2007 !
  8. Bert I agree with your sentiments entirely. Congratulations Jason on a fine win following an excellent season's work for Belle Vue and speedway in general. I look forward to seeing him at Arlington on Saturday.
  9. Just wish to add my condolences. I remember him riding for the Hawks. RIP Toni
  10. No offence to Bryn or Mike but I just have to say that Kevin Coombes is loved by all at Eastbourne and other tracks where he runs around with his mike. They all do a good job at giving out information and keeping the crowd amused. It has been said earlier that if the meeting were in Denmark, then the presenter calls for the fans to support the Danes. If the meeting were in Poland, then the presenter calls for the fans to support the Poles and so on. As to bends yes there are two, one at each end. There are four turns [ well there are if you are lucky ]
  11. I heartily endorse that. He adds fun to his presentation and is very clear and easy to follow.
  12. Yes Gordon was my hero too ! I took my young boys to Arlington when he was riding in the late 80's for the Eagles in the National League. My eldest son had a pair of his old leathers.
  13. For various reasons a book signing seems unlikely. Just like to wish the authors good luck with this.
  14. You have me too when I was with Krissie
  15. Yes I was there but I used to get in through the woods and over the fence I was at Junior School just along the road. Had a long break after 1959 until 1973 or 1974 when I went when not working and returned again in 1988.
  16. Well I was there but don't have the info. You might try Sid Shine the stats man at www.elite-eagles.com If he has the info on file I am sure that he will help you.
  17. He does make the odd appearance at Arlington and looks no older than when he last rode.
  18. I think you will find that the remark was tongue in cheek
  19. Yes please ! Thank you. Very much appreciated.
  20. Yes that was what I was talking about though I hesitated to name the club. The move did neither rider nor club any good and Gordon was left with the average he obtained at reserve as he did not complete enough rides at number 1.
