  2. Modern era Bristol didn`t as the Speedway was ridden on the dog track.
  3. Surely you are not suggesting Norbold is another John Hyam and asks a question when he already knows the answer. !!
  4. A truly excellent speaker i agree. If i narrow it down to a prolific author from deepest Essex, i don’t think i will be far out.

  6. If they have any sense that`s exactly what they should do- however there is every chance they will look after the season ticket holders first.
  7. From Stewmac While alarm bells are not ringing just yet, there appears to be some concern about the fact that only 28,000 tickets have been sold so far for the Warsaw GP in May.
  8. With the SEC Challenge final in Hungary on the 14th i can’t see much happening in Poland on that day.

  11. Riders signed with Polish league 1 and 2 are now allowed to ride for 3 other teams from 2 other previously. Translated article From the 2023 season, the Main Speedway Sport Commission will allow riders of the 1st Speedway League and the 2nd Speedway League to sign contracts not in two, but in three additional leagues. This means that each speedway rider will be able to race in a maximum of four different clubs. Why such a change? Zbigniew Fiałkowski, vice-chairman of GKSŻ, mentions two reasons. - This is a nod to speedway riders, but I want to make it clear that we do not force anyone to do anything. No player has to sign four contracts. We only give them this opportunity, and it's up to them whether they decide to use it - he emphasizes. The second issue is equally important, because it directly concerns the course of the games and the planning of matches in the 2023 season. - Due to the fact that we have expanded the number of leagues in which players can compete, we will gain a free Thursday for the Polish league. This will allow us to run the games even more efficiently this year - emphasizes Fiałkowski. The vice-chairman also explains how the “free Thursday” rule for the Polish league will work in practice. – If, for example, the match of the 1st Speedway League planned for Sunday does not take place, we will be able to postpone it, but not to the next Thursday, but to the next one. Of course, we must officially inform about this so that no one in foreign leagues is planning competitions at that time. All these changes are the result of an agreement that we managed to work out with representatives of other countries. In fact, everyone will benefit from it – sums up Fiałkowski.
  12. Well obviously it had to be TBC, as i posted it as the riders crossed the line in the final and it was a world exclusive. However i needed to cover myself in case i had made my 1st error ever- which of course i hadn`t

  14. Fair enough- but a lot of us including MA think every race should count( in their case not the semi`s) Doyle i`m sure won`t feel he was robbed as he knew how the scoring was in all 4 rounds- anyway winning the meeting means nothing whatsoever- just race 23 to qualify for and earn extra points.
  15. Sportowefakty have published an article (Google translated) about the cost to the city/club in hosting the GP since 2010 "More than PLN 25 million - that's how much Toruń cost from 2010 to 2020 to organize the Speedway Grand Prix" - Radio PiK found out. It was added that the most expensive - in terms of the price for the rights to the tournament - was 2014, when almost PLN 3.6 million was spent on this purpose. - It is true that large events are also high expenses, but these expenses are in a sense an investment - argues the spokeswoman for the mayor of Toruń, Aleksandra Iżycka, explaining that the city spends such huge money on the speedway tournament. He adds that the money from the sale of tickets went to the Toruń club, which - as a co-organizer - had the mission of obtaining the appropriate income from the event. If it succeeded with a vengeance - the surplus went to the club's treasury. If not - the shortfall was covered by the club budget.
