  1. Lions have a decent chance here. Big advantage at team manager with Stead over Rossiter.
  2. That's the spirit. Ignore the expert and assume that there is a trivial explanation as to why they draw better crowds than speedway.
  3. What sight line would be blocked that would cause a rider to not be able to see a faller in time to react? I understand the spectator issue, but that's a bit of a stretch.
  4. I have been pretty indifferent to race suits on the whole, but seeing the difference between those with and those without in Speedway star this week in the team photos was persuasive. Ditching them on cost grounds is a false economy.
  5. RR for Bates is not up to the job. Need to do better for league matches. Once Vacilik gets going, and no2 is sorted out, they should be in good shape.
  6. This is completely the problem and why many speedway supporters dislike Poole. The attitude that as long as Poole win, hammering the sport as a whole into the ground is an acceptable cost.
  7. I watched him at Auburn and he looked fast. Got some learning to do, especially on larger tracks, but he has potential.
  8. Not a very reliable source. Even when the subject is Chris Holder!
  9. Business as usual when it comes to Poole and the BSPA.
  10. I think they'd be better off with Kildemand than Holder.
  11. Didn't finish a race all night? That doesn't happen to the best riders, who are usually the best prepared.
  12. The first one getting busted (Fricke) was careless, but after that it is just unprofessional to fall foul of this. You've already seen your teammate get excluded for the exact same thing.
  13. Add it to the long list of circumstances in which he isn't interested!
  14. Smallmead hosted Thames Valley Chargers American Football for a season or two.
  15. Would they need to redeclare or would they be able to use guests like Lasse from outside the league?
  16. I wouldn't particularly care about the track, but follow the team (as we've been asked to ignore distance). And I am delighted to see the racers name live on, even at a remote venue. I wish i was close enough to see them.
  17. Well, that's a good point which rather undermines the argument! The asset system really does need to be challenged and stuck down though. Presumably it would have to be by an EU national.
  18. That would mean he was under contract and that Poole would be on the hook for his wages whether he rides for them or not. That's how it works in post Bosman soccer.
  19. Or he could challenge the legal basis for restricting his employment opportunities by someone with whom he has no contractual relationship. Open and shut case in the post-Bosman era and about time it was kicked out of speedway.
  20. I've heard this a few times, but don't understand why heat times and track records aren't way faster than they used to be. What am I missing?
  21. I prefer watching races where teammates can work together, or noting which pairs won't! It's adds a very entertaining tactical element.
  22. Clubs can't own the rights to out of contract riders - it's illegal!
  23. Could you give a ballpark guess as to what percentage of a clubs income the sky money represented? Are they looking at a reduction of 10%, 30% or 50%?
  24. If he is a good enough negotiator that he can get more money for British Speedway, after his commission, than they could have got without him, they are ahead. It is not a zero sum game.
