  1. No you didn't silly person you clearly stated I said 'different' in that specific post and where did I put that word and if you were trying to say something else then be more specific - tried to be clever didn't work now move along
  2. You're spot on Steve and yes to me it just does not make good business sense to put a team out which never was going to bring the crowds back and in fact has actually turned more people away.
  3. Steve the point is that the team is just not strong enough experienced or inexperienced. The only way to save Newcastle speedway long term in my opinion; and also getting people to attend is to have a team which is challenging on all fronts - yet we're half way through the season approx and the season is already over. There is only a very small amount of people who will go each week no matter what and that number is increasingly dwindling all the time. You need a competitive team to bring the crowds back and this team isn't and never has been; and if the 'in crowd' don't like that then so be it, but you have a look at the crowd this Sunday and tell me I'm wrong.
  4. No it's not rocket science to say this team wasn't strong enough from day one and you certainly didn't have to be a clairvoyant to see it either - did I say that the score was better than the League Cup I said it wasn't much different but ahem don't let facts get in the way!
  5. Got nothing to do with yesterday's match, I have made these comments since day one and if you really think that this team is strong enough to challenge on any front then your clearly kidding yourself. Steve Worrall has been a big plus and you have to give the lad a massive amount of credit for that but the team is certainly not strong enough and never has been or will be - nothing to do with yesterday's result and by the way the score wasn't that much better than the League Cup one either. Again it's not one match though why are people thinking this - can anyone on here please tell me that this team is strong enough without their black and white blinkers on.
  6. Mine says exactly what was expected as I said before a wheel was turned.
  7. And yet still nothing is done about it and people ask why supporters don't turn up - simple the team has never been strong enough from day one and all the people stating that this is all that can be afforded - well don't complain then or ask for fans to turn up if that's the case. I think it's too late now even if changes are made as the season is already over should have been done weeks ago if not before a wheel was even turned.
  8. Summed up exactly my feelings - if you want me back put out a team which excites and is competitive. If you can't don't expect me to be back as speedway is no longer holds a love where I wouldn't miss for anything (there was a time). The last couple of years I have been scratching my head at the start of the season when the team has been anounced (and proven right) and it was even worse this year as pratically the same team have been selected. If that's all the promotion can afford then fine but don't expect me or a lot of other old hands returning and as for new people coming in there is not a hope in hell of that happening.
  9. I'll remain an armchair cirtic thanks and by the sounds of it there are plenty more out there also. The team is just not strong enough and crowds won't come to watch a struggling team whose season is finished at the start of June. That's just the way it is when competing against other sports and other interests you need a competitive team and this one isn't. I've got an interest from years gone by but I wouldn't fork out my hard earned cash to watch the team as it is and there are obviously numerous others feel the say way. If you don't like that so bit it, but it's not going to get me back.
  10. Woah hold your horses I'm giving an opinion (which I'm entitled to) and certainly don't need a lecture off you.If you don't like it tough!
  11. As I said Steve it just my opinion we need to change to try and get the crowds back up but I totally respect everyone has theirs also :-)
  12. I don't know the finances of the club Steve so I could pick names and people will say can't afford him also being a Sunday track rules out a few riders also. Big question as to when Anton is going to actually be fit to ride if it's another month and then bearing in mind he will need a few meetings to get back up to speed then unfortunately that would be one area which would be a shame on the lad. Reserve is also a key part of the team now with potentially 6 rides per meeting so that's another area to look at. Steve has surprised me this year and hats off to the lad but I'm never confident going into heats 13 and 15 and that's something to look at also. Again in my opinion every team needs an out and out number 1 in their team who guarantees you a high % of wins in the important heats.
  13. Here what you say Dave but I honestly think you're being way over confident on the ability of the team and in my opinion not making use of the 2.5 points is naive to possibly the point of stadium closure. As with people coming, you need to get the ones back who used to go week in and week out before you think of getting new people going. You need a team who are getting good scores to attract as in any sport and your not going to get new people going to see a team which is struggling - I for one am person who went home and away for years and would not go and watch this team so how can you attract others. One person I know who doesn't like speedway enough to go but always takes an interest in the scores as it's a Newcastle team, said to me last week "whats wrong with the Diamonds the last few year, they used to be right up there but every time I hear they seem to get beat". There are fans who go no matter what just to see speedway but even that is going down judging by the amount of people even on this board who used to go every week but now don't (myself included). You need a successful and challenging team to attract supporters to speedway and again in my opinion there is no way this current team will do that. Sorry if what I say might upset some people but that's my feelings on it anyway.
  14. This team will not finish in the play offs that's the point. Crowds are dramatically down and in my opinion may well see the end of speedway at Newcastle unless something is done to correct this and with 2.5 points to play with then surely the time is now. The situation will only improve with an increase in crowds and the crowds will only come back for a team which is challenging. It's a double edged sword I realise ut again in my opinion unless there is am improvement within the team then less money is going to come into the club and ultimately no speedway. There was changes last year I realise but there is more to play with this year and the situation where two riders had to make way for one would not be a problem. Anyway it's pointless arguing about what's right or wrong only the promotion can decide what they feel is best, the rest of us can only have opinions.
  15. Sorry totally disagree you have 2.5 points to play with, crowds are drastically down and the team is just not strong enough without or with Rosen.
  16. Well don't have a go at people because their opinion is different from you - time will tell as I say.
  17. Again in your opinion doesn't say your right - we shall see and just because the promotion have chosen that option doesn't say they are right also. We all have opinions and just because people on the forum don't agree with a few people on the board is no way a slap in my face. I understand that finances are not great but in my opinion again, the team chosen will not up the attendances at Brough - time will tell.
  18. Hope to be wrong but I just can't see it - think it will be a big struggle this year especially on our travels.
  19. If someone is there tonight at the PTE can you post on here who the final rider is please (even though I think w all have guessed)
  20. You're on if we win a trophy and we finish in the top 3 making the pay-offs by finishing 4th - 6th is not really a successful season in my opinion
  21. We will see who is right at the end of next season and I said I will be the first to hold my hands up if I'm wrong - don't think I will be but most certainly I'm entitled to my opinion as is everyone else.
  22. I honestly can't believe the team and is a disaster in the making, I was right last year and this team like you will certainly not have me attending on a regular basis either. I'm here to be proven wrong but I'm pretty certain I won't be.
  23. Totally agree - a very long season in progress me thinks and not a chance of winning anything - in my opinion a very disappointing line up. I will be the first to hold my hands up if I'm wrong but I can see further changes in June/July as with the year just gone. Can't understand signing a second string on a 7 plus average who has never looked comfortable at Brough
  24. you can read through my posts last for last year's team and I said exactly the same and was proved correct. In my opinion (and 'if') that is the final team, then it will be a struggle next year and two year of poor gates could put the track in danger of closing. Steve W is not comfortable at Brough. To win meetings you need riders who can consistently win races and I'm sorry that won't happen if the team being discussed is the one that starts the season. Each to their own though and I would loved to be proved wrong but don't think I will be - again IF that is the team.
