  1. I am not so sure. If they did not feel confident that they had him tied up for next year then surely they would have used him more to get a true average. Why protect his 3.0 for somebody else's benefit? You might lose one of Hampshire or Beebee because top 5 looks to much for them at this stage.
  2. Sometimes I am really happy to be wrong. Young Tom Brennan's 7 points made all the difference. I have said that if he gets out he can be difficult to catch and he took points of off Perry,JPB(2) and Smith(2).
  3. Does anyone know if the 8 day guest rule applies in NL. If not it will presumably be Connor Coles again. Cannot see any other viable option. Surely Georgies problem, presumably work, could be resolved for one night even if it meant a helicopter to Birmingham for him with the team taking his equipment up. I'm sure we would be happy to have a whip round to cover the cost. Connor is really set on winning this so you can be sure he is working on something.
  4. I wish Christmas could come that early. How can you honestly imagine not getting 20 points from the reserves and Shanes is probably enough to secure the win. A last heat decider could perhaps make a draw but Brummies by 4 or 6 looks odds on. Do all Brummie supporters have such little faith in their fabulous only once beaten team.
  5. Not sure what the point of your question is. I said they did better than I expected (as I had resigned myself in a previous post to a 12 point deficit). As regards the reserves I thought they would only get the mandatory 1 from heat 2. Even in the home match I have only said MIGHT get 3 or 4 more because if Tom gets out the gate first he might be difficult to catch at the speed he goes round Arlington but I am not holding my breath. What makes you think I was expecting the reserves to pick up points away?
  6. That my whole point, unbeaten in three would take a load of points off our top four making an even bigger mountain to climb for the reserves. If James gets 9 in any manner on Sunday the Brummies will be delighted and it would be a big improvement on Davey's 5 on Wednesday.
  7. That rather puts the tin hat on it, Shanes was and I think still is the only man to beat Adam Ellis here this yearbarring falls and Engine Failures. He will take points off the top 4.
  8. They did better than expected but Brum reserves 27 Eagles 2 says it all. If we can't do better than that then we won't win a match let alone an aggregate. However if we keep running them close like that they will have done us proud. Luke was disappointing given recent improvement and ex home track experience with Cradley last year but Tom was always going to struggle on a track he probably has never even seen before and against 2 such reserves. I think Charley Powell will get the nod on Sunday instead of Luke and Tom on the track he grew up on might just add 3 or 4 points. Whatever happens we are in for a couple of really exciting meetings and the whole team have given it their all this year which is all we can ask. Lets just hope the weather stays fine and any of Speedways 'gremlins' don't spoil the ending.
  9. If the Eagles can hold the loss to 6 points tonight it might be a nail biting last couple of heats in the second leg but I cannot see it happening. With respect to Conner Coles as a guest it will be difficult to show the sort of team passion that Georgie Wood shows in these circumstances. I doubt we will get to 40 points and a 12 point lead will make it a dead rubber. The Brummies Management did a fantastic job building a team with JPB and Jack Smith at reserve this season and have had a deserved return. It is a real shame that the club image has been tarnished by a few so called supporters on this forum who repeatedly put their barbs in. I hope there are no incidents or controversial decisions tonight to set the hare running again. But I guess it will happen anyway.
  10. Can you resist the temptation to stay for two weeks? Four nail biting matches against the Brum going to the wire, has to be mouth watering. On current form the Eagles might just be able to nick it against the odds.
  11. Is that serious or are you sending me up. Many years working for an American Fortune 500 company and going there four times a year and I never heard of that? Surely they have spoken of ' ******* victory from the jaws of defeat'
  12. Looks like Luke Harris is still out. Tom at reserve and r/r for Cottham looks a bit risky unless they have a decent no 8 on hand . An early accident and only 5 riders could ###### the tie away from them. The top 4 look far too good for Kent however, Perks and Wood v Hopwood and Mason should be no contest. (Why I got the hashes instead of the word I used to mean rapidly take away from I cannot imagine)
  13. Did not expect that result. Wins at Cradley and Kent away within five days ! Maybe Brum wont have it as easy as we expected.
  14. Here we go again, every time the engine puffs. What a bore but I hope you are right for once.
  15. I certainly would. Great signing, Good luck Buxton just the shot in the arm they need and deserve. Unfortunately not likely to happen.
  16. I don't know which team Halifaxtiger supports but if Adam was to decide to stay NL next year and signed for his team he would be purring like a kitten.
  17. Unbelievable comment! Ellis Perks is in the form of his life, 43 points in 7 days from three away meetings Kent, IOW & Mildenhall. With Zach's average dropping you could well find Perks strengthens the side, and Smith will no doubt take one of Blackburns rides. Birmingham are still favourites.
  18. It's a no brainer, they are sure to take Belle Vue or Cradley. More away support for close/local derby and certain win. The big battle is who will they face in the final. With Perks improvement and reserves developing it could me a terrific battle with the Kings. Added benefit of another local derby and a good gate. As regards the final, it has always been Birmingham's to lose and that situation has not changed. Their initial heat leaders may have struggled this season but the second strings have been excellent. What inspired them to pick Hume and Bacon I don't know, added to the reserves which we all knew would win it for them makes them invincible.
  19. Should not be a problem, Bewley, Perry, Shanes, Chessell, Priest and Wilson all free but my money would be on Bewley.
  20. Would be nice to think it could be close but the home match was really close, without Adam Ellis the result is a foregone conclusion. However it should be entertaining as the eagles are a team of racers and will give it their best effort.
  21. This is strange. It was the only date available to arrange the postponed Eastbourne match. Instead they bring the match from September 18th forward, on which date Eastbourne are home to B Vue. As regards Double headers Eastbourne are already booked all Sundays in September except the 4th until the last day of cut off. I also notice that the Eastbourne v Stoke match which has always been Sept 11th now appears twice in the BSPA fixture list with Sept 10th added. Could it be they are switching to the Saturday making the Sunday free to go to Buxton? I hope so as I am off to Crete on the 11th and will miss 3 matches otherwise. Buxton have had since May 1st to re-arrange this, time they kept us in the picture.
  22. Many Thanks Solrac, We needed the 4 points.
  23. Therr is no updates texter so can you give us occasional score please?
  24. Confused indeed because the Stoke Web site says Lee Geary and Joe Lawler now. Connor seemed pretty definite on the Eagles web site so I will go with him until I see the final version which might be different again.
