Should Tai Woffinden Ride For Team Gb ?
BWitcher replied to robert72's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Anyone noticed that Robert72 dismisses every argument as to why Woffinden doesn't ride in the UK? So basically he's of the opinion he's doing it quite simply to spite fans.. If it winds up Robert72, I'm all for it! WOOFY WOOFY WOOFY! -

That merely emphasises the point further. He isn't going to be skipping GP rounds is he, nor can he skip meetings for the clubs he is contracted too. Therefore, OPTIONAL events are the ones to go. -

Name the riders you are 'sure' have other priorities in speedway that are more important. -
Wolves V Coventry Mon 6th June 2016

So what? Howarth beat them also so it made no difference having PK at reserve. Of course, reasonable chance PK may have scored more than Howarth at No 2. So all in all, you caught Wolves on a weaker night. -

Have a sit down and have a little think about where you have gone wrong in your logic there. -

Now you are concocting fantasies. Your post that started all of this made no mention of your 'original team' or your 'changed team'. You simply said, as I have quoted that "Team GB without Tai would be far better" It's a ridiculous statement and no matter how much you bleat, squirm or try and twist it it remains a ridiculous statement as in no way shape of form would Team GB be 'better', never mind 'far better' without Tai. -

The British Final is an individual event that has no relevance to the World Cup or riding for Great Britain. Scott Nicholls has refused to race for GB for some time, that is his choice to do so. Were he head and shoulders above competing riders for his position I wouldn't have any qualms about him being selected, but as it is there is very little to choose between him and Lambert so I would go with Lambert. I wouldn't be up in arms if Nicholls was picked though. -

No he isn't correct as he stated that the team with Bates at reserve is 'far better'. Good god.... Screamer's team makes much more sense but any team without Woffinden is not 'far better'. There is one name that is an absolute certainty, that is Woffinden. Then you have Harris, Nicholls, Cook, Lambert and maybe even Steve Worrall who could come into contention. I honestly can't see Harris being left out and the way Cook rode in Belle Vue's last home meeting he seems to have figured things out. It could come down to Nicholls and Lambert. Given that Nicholls hasn't rode for his country in some time I would put Lambert in. Woffinden Cook Harris Lambert -

No it doesn't kill me at all. It makes me laugh that you encourage such idiocy. The World Cup team consists of a squad of five riders. He has taken Woffinden out of that squad and replaced him with Bates. End of story. 100% bona fide fact. As a consequence of that ridiculous action Lambert would move up into the top 4 and Bates would be reserve. So tell me, what exactly is he right about? The argument he made is by doing the above Team GB is 'far better'. You are seriously trying to tell me that dropping Woffinden from the squad and bringing in Bates, moving Lambert up makes them 'far better'? That is the debate, not semantics. -

lol.. so who has he left out then? Woffinden. It doesn't matter how much you try and twist it. One man is out, Woffinden, one man is in. Bates. Very simple and only an absolute blithering idiot would suggest it and it's almost as bad trying to justify it in any way, shape or form. -

Really.. there was I thinking.. Woffinden was missing and Bates had appeared. Woffinden Cook Nicholls Harris Lambert There you go, I've just replaced Bates with Woffinden in the squad. -

If you're going to post, at least try and remember what you did post. You stated quite clearly that the team would be far better without Tai. The rider in his place was Bates. Note, not even slightly better.. FAR better were your words. Evidence aplenty you haven't a scoobies. -

Of course not, we're stronger by picking Josh Bates as Robert72 has told us. As he has rode a bike he knows more than anyone. -
I think this qualifies as a Whoosh

BWitcher replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The nonsense regarding PK continues. Has anyone bothered to actually look at the meeting Monday night? He beat Woryna, Sarjeant and Roynon. That's it. Howarth beat Garrity, Roynon and Sarjeant. So the reality is it made absolutely no difference... except perhaps to make Wolves weaker. Howarth would have scored what PK did at reserve, PK may have scored more at No 2 than Howarth. -

He may have, but it has zero relevance to this topic. All this fuss and palava over Peter Karlsson who has rode 1 meeting at reserve and guess what? By the time of the next Wolverhampton meeting, he's in the 1-5 again I believe. -

Robert72 is the one who has made the claims about the British Final, not given as an opinion, he gave them as fact. He was asked for evidence of that, his response was basically he had won some speedway races in the past.. i.e. he has none. -
Stupid comment. The headline is asking a question.. How boring is he? If you don't think he is boring you say so. If you do, you can also say so. It is quite amusing.. when a meeting is full of gate and go races, they are described as boring by all and sundry. By definition a rider who wins most of his races from the gate can be labelled a 'boring' rider.. indeed many find Greg Hancock boring. That doesn't mean they aren't good riders, just not as exciting as riders who regularly miss the start and have to overtake.

Exactly.. Ford is being very clever, he knows most folks haven't grasped the system and is looking to gain support to revert to a system he knows darn well would favour his team immensely.

Wolves aren't 'working any system'. They signed Peter Karlsson to replace Mikkel Bech, a rider with a higher average. As PK has a lower average than Howarth, he starts at reserve. Nothing to do with 'working a system'. He won't be there for long. -
