Really? The first 4 heats were nothing to shout about, but some great action in the second set.
-
As said before, why do some riders do this. Win a race with ease, yes off Gate 1 but he was quick. Then decides to make changes???? Result, you're not quick anymore.
-
Cook wins his race with some ease... so decides to make some changes... so often riders do this and go backwards.
-
Ah! Your luck ran out in Heat 5 then!
-
Excellent 4 heats? Thus far its pathetic. Massive advantage for the inside gates.

WK, you do nothing but enflame these situations. Consistently you pipe up in the middle annoyed that a debate has turned into a slanging match.. and on each and every occasion you direct your ire at those who were annoyed previous to you and NOT at the instigator. Gustix has once again in his trolling fashion stirred all this up and folk like you jumping in to defend him only serves to encourage him to do it more. If you don't wish to see threads descend in this manner, kindly tell your friend Gustix to take his trolling to facebook and if he wishes to 'ignore the achievements of Tai Woffinden' its probably best if he ignored any threads about him. So Gustix, how does posting on a thread about Tai Woffinden constitute to 'ignoring him'. Also, please elaborate on the other factors about him you 'cannot stand'? Is it his hard work and dedication to promoting the sport? Is it his erstwhile efforts to raise money for childrens charities? Perhaps its his total dedication to the sport? Or are you really shallow enough to dislike a person because they have some tattoos...

Again, missing the point entirely. You don't get results overnight. If every week Joe Bloggs tunes in and sees a big crowd having fun at a speedway meeting he's going to be more inclined to go along himself. Or, he can tune in briefly every week, see a deserted stadium and continue the current perception of speedway is definitely not the place to be. It really is basic marketing. -
Firstly it isn't a death wish, that's just your inability to read correctly. Secondly, it wouldn't be the first one anyway, that belongs to Subedei I believe.

What a jealous bitter old man you are. It's going to be really difficult for you over the next few years as Tai continues to excel at the top of the sport.. and don't worry, he'll very likely continue to do so long after you've departed this world.

Again, missing the point entirely. He actually made a very valid comment, unlike yours. If you hire a builder and he shows little interest in the job, or is simply downright awful, I assume you don't question him if you've never built anything yourself. -

Not just you, 2 or 3. It's nothing to do with making more money on that particular night. It's something that the sport should be doing as a whole. Using TV as a tool to promote the sport.. instead they use it to damage it. -

Personally if I think something is stupid I most certainly wouldn't be watching it and even more so spending time on a forum discussing it. Which begs the question, if the sport is stupid, what does that make you? These same tired nonsensical arguments keep being trotted out as a means of attacking speedway... you obviously don't watch much sport if you think speedway is 'stupid' for such rules. -

Every other TV meeting that has offered a decent promotion. -

Don't promote the sport on TV, continue to whither away and die. Or promote the sport and help it to grow. For 15 years they've opted for the first option, the sport has continued to whither away in this country. You've missed the point entirely regarding WWE. It wasn't a massive business, it was a fairly successful regional promotion in the North East of America... turned into a massive World Wide business primarily due to its use of TV and ensuring its product appeared to be the place to be. I do agree however there should be some sort of centrally co-ordinated strategy for TV meetings. -

I am sure promoters of some of the most successful sports/entertainments/businesses in the world know far more than Buster. If you are going to be advertising your product on TV, which effectively what a live screening of a match is, then you should be making your product seem worthy of peoples attention. If there are very few people watching it the immediate message it will send is, not worth of attention. If it looks like there is a decent crowd and atmosphere, the opposite. That IS a laid down right theory. One of the worlds biggest entertainment businesses was built in that exact way. WWE. As they expanded their TV output they made sure that venues were always full as much as possible.. regardless of ticket sales. Thousands of tickets were given away for free in the days before events. Thus, the commentators could introduce the show as 'Sold out', 'Standing room Only', 'They're hanging from the rafters'.... and before long they no longer had to give tickets away as the sheep effect kicked in. Or we can go down the speedway model of do absolutely nothing for 15 years of prime time tv coverage and see the sport sink further into obscurity. -

That particular rule has absolutely nothing to do with the reason the sport is dying. It actually does the exact thing you would want it to do, keeps a meeting alive and encourages teams to race harder as last night demonstrated. Early on Poole were hit hard and down, they set their target at getting at least a pt and continued to battle hard.. that battling soon brought them into contention for actually winning the meeting. Without it, they may well have just gone through the motions and we wouldn't have seen the exciting end that we did. -
Wolves should win this. Ermolenko will go through the card tonight, can't see any Robin touching him. Correy, although not his favourite track, is flying and should score well also. PK will back them up and Jonah will score his usual 6-7. Wayne Carter will clean up at reserve. 50-40 to the Wolves.

The most flawed argument ever. Your promotion and all the others have lost hundreds of thousands of £££'s during the Sky coverage by not reducing admission. -

Current form? Harris scored a maximum away from home in his last meeting, riding as a heat leader. You clearly don't like Pearson, I'm not a major fan myself.. however there is NOTHING wrong with his commentary in that last race. I've just watched it again and he conveyed the excitement and indeed the surprise of the race brilliantly. Anyone who understands speedway would know that the leader hadn't been passed after the back straight lap 1 all night. Anyone who understands speedway would know that Janowski, once in front is nigh on untouchable. Of course it isn't pointless conveying the situation after lap 1, that's his bloody job. He stated "It looks as if Kings Lynn's home record will go"... he was correct. It did look that way and you will find very few fans who expected Lambert would pass Janowski after he blocked his initial dive on lap 1. What his commentary conveyed was the sheer importance of the pass on Lambert and he did it well. That race IS one that would make a casual observer sit up and take notice that something amazing had just taken place and Pearsons commentary added to it on this occasion. -

Where did I say I didn't enjoy it? It was an enjoyable meeting.. primarily due to the scores being close and the fantastic final race. Overall the racing was average.. but to a speedway fan, average racing is enjoyable so no qualms there. -

A night like what? A meeting contested in front of a sparse crowd with little atmosphere. Only speedway fans would be still around to see the end. It doesn't matter one jot how good the racing is.. and last night the racing was NOT good, it was average at BEST. There was ONE lead change all night. ONE, that being in the final heat... as said, it doesn't matter, if there's hardly anyone watching it won't capture the attention of anyone bar the existing fanbase. You've not watched many then -

I must agree that Maciej Janowski is really growing on me, rapidly becoming one of my favourite riders. Not only that he's winning me a lot of money The meeting was good last night purely from the sense of the scoreline which just shows that the much maligned Tactical ride did its job. It galvanised Poole and ensured we had a well fought meeting. The racing was average until the final couple of heats with no lead changing hands except in Heat 15. There were a few scraps for pts in the minor placings, enough to keep it interesting so I'm not saying it was bad. Once again though, a pretty average crowd on hand with zero effort from the promotion involved so although it may have seemed good to a speedway fan, not many others are likely to have stuck around to see the finish. Speedway loses again. -

Quite the opposite actually in this case.. it actually made the turnaround in the race more dramatic. Which it was, nobody would have expected it. Quite how you work that out I don't know.
