As for Holder it is true that he was offered the Wild Card but didnt feel ready for the GP series. All i can say is it shows the lad is in it for the long term and he made a very brave decision. Many would it and rush in then be totally out of their depth. To wait another season at league level bringing in money and upgrading his gear is only going to benefit him when he does enter the series. -

Well the bookies seem to like him. N Pedersen 11/10 J Crump 5/2 H Andersen 10/1 G Hancock 11/1 T Gollob 11/1 A Jonsson 12/1 L Adams 12/1 E Satfutdinov 33/1 F Lindgren 66/1 R Holta 66/1 S Nicholls 66/1 Dont think you can argue with that considering he is 19 and is in his first GP series. -
Too many people are in it for themselves and not the good of the sport. Thats really the major issue. If you can get a group of people that have the growth and survival of the sport at heart it wont progress.

See there you go again. this forum has a huge issue with taking a broad look at things. i never once said it was only about horsepower. It helps alot though. -

Ostergarrd wasnt unbeatable. faster bikes in the EL make a much bigger diff in the EL than they do the PL -

Hence the generally speaking in brackets. a medium sized EL track is still open throttle all the way. -

The EL aint helped by huge sweeping tracks that is all about who has the best tuned engine (generally speaking) The PL has much more technical tracks meaning alot more thought needed in racing. just my opinion. -

Ther still one better than the all mighty Elite league -
How is it not big enough? they could have the Monday night speedway as usual and show a PL meeting either Fri Sat or Sun they have 3 channels dont forget. And ofcourse more people watch cricket on sky, thats because it is on more often everytime you go onto Sky there is a cricket match. Its a terrible sport. Plus in addition to racing why not have a speedway round up program. It could talk about speedway from CL, PL and EL and even take in some of the foreign leagues. It would be like a football style goals round up program with all the highlights and news.
-
Its a shame Sky are too tight fisted to put any real investment into speedway. They spend a fortune on cricket a complete waste of time sport that will put you to sleep in seconds and has even more confusing rules than speedway does. I would like to see more speedway meetings from the EL and PL being shown on Sky on a more regular basis and more money being put into both leagues by them.
-
The EL is a complete sham no wonder very few people are interested in speedway.
-
What i dont get is there is a huge gulf in excitement and racing style yet theres alot of riders compete in both leagues so why is it that there riding style changes just because they change there race jacket
-
There was a huge number of terribly boring EL meetings last season total embarresment to speedway.

Do you really want to be sitting in a stand in utter silence? my first visit to Berwick i took a seat in the stand after heat 1 i was round the other side on the back straight that was the first time i ever tried sitting at a speedway meeting. The atmosphere was none existent the racing didnt feel the same either (not sure why) I love standing at speedway as was mentioned when in a group all stood round having a pint and a laugh is what adds to the greatness.

I think this Skezza guy talks aload of crap. Have you seen how much he drools over Lee, Scott and Chris. Jesus mate get a grip they are not as good as you make out. Nicolls buckles under pressure time and time again. Richardson is a terrible rider in the grand scheme of it all. Bomber is about the only one of the 3 that is good to watch and can hold his own, he just needs better machine and abit more experiance to compete with the big boys. As for the prize money he has failed to mention if this is profit after all expenses. He doesnt mention if this prize money is taxed. He doesnt mention if it has been converted from one currency to another. Infact he doesnt tell us anything at all.

I disagree with the seating. Football was a joy to go to when it was all standing the seating has ruined atmospheres at alot of stadiums. Leave the all standing as it is. We was talking about finding 3 times as many fans from out the blue. Just take a look at Edinburgh. we have increased our gates by just about that number if not more. Ok admittedly our success owes alot to that, but if the ticket prices were cut from the current £13.50 the new fans we have gained would then bring along friends and family therefore meaning an even bigger gain in spectators.
