  1. I think we need plenty of explosives to get rid of the BSPA before speedway will ever move forward
  2. Simple ban guests UNLESS two of your 7 nominated riders are injured then it should be a 2nd half rider and the clubs choice whether they get a guest for the second place.
  3. I agree on all that has been said so far. I got to the Scotwaste Arena (Armadale) every friday. I live about 25-30 miles away so thers fuel costs right away. All because Edinbugh City Council are too ignorant to take the sport seriously. Then its £13.50 an adults £5 for kids 12-16 anyone under 12 with a paying adult is allowed in free. But then you have £2 a program (who actually reads that rubbish?) you have about a fiver at the snack van. Then your pints, raffles, fuel fund. Also missed out the £1 for the car park (all adds up ) Prices need dropped to get more people into the stadiums and they need to stay low to keep them there. Also on the rules side. Have you ever saw a newbie to the sport being told ALL the rules? watch there face drop and turn white. There is no need in all the rules we have, atleast the bikes are simple an engine and a seat why cant the rules follow that method? Lose the TR its a stupid rule and can ruin a teams night and season if it proves vital on enough occasions. Lose the Points rule, so money will talk atleast we will see some proper competition rather than 2 top riders and 5 duds following behind. speedway has the foundations to be one of the top sport with its riders/fans access. As many of you will know by now i have been lucky to get alot of help from one of the pros to get my own gear going, but no one outside the sport would believe that we follow a sport so great that you can have a pro at your house helping you fix your own bike.
  4. We all sit on these pages and talk and talk about what we feel is going wrong. The point is we all have the answers but we have no workable solutions. Im afraid i dont have several million pound to open up a track for training purposes. Speedway is never going to have kids flocking to it until we can get solid future minded specialised training tracks and schools. Why would a parent go out and spend £1,000 for a bike £100 for a helmet another 100 or so fir kevlars then a couple hundred for boots etc etc etc when they can simply go and buy a £30 pair of football boots and be done with the matter. I own a bike, ok i aint the youngest of people but the hassle to find a track with regular access to the public is a nightmare. We need an across the board initiative on how to rectify these issues. My idea on this matter would be as follows. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle and Berwick (maybe Workington) could between them afford to open a simple training track/facility, that would accomodate the needs of Scotland and Nothern England. I cant be bothered going through all the clubs but you get the idea a few clubs within reasonable distance could all come together to provide these facilities in a central location to all there home tracks. Another thing i find astonishing is that speedway must be the only sport in the world where a professional participant does not get to train. A friend of mine who happens to ride for a pro club has told me is a case of going to the tracks getting on the bike and racing. This being down to the lack of facilties now IMO that is absolutely rediculous and is one thing that would turn anyone away from the sport. Just my opinion.
  5. What a load of rubbish No only joking from what i have read in your post this sounds like a great idea, especially with the mention medical obstacles he has had to face. Well done for bringing it up
  6. Was you not watching the meeting Shazzy? Scotty said it as did lynch. Everytime chris louis spoke he said it. Tai said it, the Danish manager said it but was the only one to immediately corrext himself. so please dont patronise me about one person saying it on here they said it all night long in both meetings. As did a brummie at Armadale. Well i also love to see GB get stuffed anway as im Scottish. Good luck next year team "england" you will need it.
  7. "no matter how many england played they wernt going to score any points" Exactly why i love seeing team "England" beaten and loved seeing them get destroyed in style. Why the hell do they have the Union flag on there race jacket if there England and why aint Scotland allowed a team if you have England
  8. Most of the land that is free from building is either farm land or green belt so in actual fact we have very little with which to build on. We keep hearing its all down to money. I dont believe for one second that there aint a guy/woman with the money and the interest in speedway that would be willing to set up a Scottish training track.
  9. Correct Shadders. For a Scottish rider starting out the closest training track is Workington. That being the main reason that Scottish talent is drying up.
  10. Yeah Darren a great idea for a holiday but when your doing it to try and get to club level club level im afraid a holiday every weekend aint visable.
  11. Are you going to pay for me to go and race speedway in the sun all day long?
  12. SOUTHERN TENNERIFE your rubbishting me? I have to travel from Edinburgh to Workington to get a damn lap of a track THE SCOTS HAVE SPEEDWAY AS WELL YOU KNOW
  13. Match fixing?? no. Tactics to avoid having the world cup stolen off them by a stupid double point rule? yes. Also if you was watching the meeting the Poles were the ones talking of throwing the heat so that they could bring Gollob in on a Joker (TR) so therefore the Danes were simply trying to crush that plan from them. Also i am so glad team "england" as they like to call it got no where. Why the hell do they have the GB race jacket yet they all get away with calling it team england. Nice way to lose countless fans up north. Anyway Jim Lynch is a disgrace, the way he handled himself in the interviews was shocking. Shouting about Scotty not making contact when infact it was clear to all that he took Ljung clean out. Anyway good luck to the Danes to retain it next year
  14. A track in spain? anyone ever consider opening one in Scotland. Jesus Christ we are crying out for a track up here. Who the hell has heard of a top Spanish rider.
