Kev, I seem to remember that he was featured in an edition of Speedway Post in the mid 60's which I have. Will have a look when I get home from work. Answer should be there unless someone beats me to it.

I guess you are thinking of 'Bluey' Scott, who rode in the 50's/60's at various tracks - Long Eaton, Middlesbrough, Glasgow amongst them. I think he rode through till about 1966 in the UK.
