I’ve missed the announcement - why is Howarth missing? -
Redcar Vs Scunthorpe 22/8/25

BSN is a commercial enterprise independent of BSPL/SCB and they don’t have the right let alone the power to fine anyone. The fight should have boosted their business and they will be grateful for it. I suspect the ruling bodies will see it differently as they seem to have lost sight of what constitutes entertainment. -

But you know what will happen - Harrison will realise he has to get out if he wants to progress leaving the other six staying. -

Professional foul by Lambert or just good luck that Allen got more time to work on his bike? -
Well, “everyone” except Edinburgh last Wednesday (58-32) and Oxford 3 days later (55-35)

Prediction of 2025 Championship league
Wee Eck replied to Bitza's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My prediction - kiss of death for some - is top four will be Poole, Glasgow, Edinburgh and…….Redcar. Scunny build a team to win at home, disappoint away and they’ve only managed the latter this year. Worky are hit and miss, likewise Oxford, and Plymouth and Berwick will miss out again. Then, unless they meet in the semis, the final will be Glasgow and Edinburgh with Edinburgh coming out on top. -
I assume he is racing on an Australian licence so no. Which is a shame really. Another rider who has moved on from respecting Britain to using us. Mind you, I accept that, as a journeyman rider who has probably peaked, he has to maximise his income somehow. He may well have been fined by Leszno for missing meetings - being injured in another league is no excuse in Poland as Martin Vaculik found out when he broke his ankle at Swindon - but Britain lacks the strength to be able to do the same.

Yes. If not exactly 3000, certainly very close. Maybe 2999

Poole speedway supplies Poole supporters with what makes them come back in their droves - are Poole’s crowd levels the best in the country? - riders who want to be there and victories. If the track isn’t the best so what? Poole wanted the win but the weak opposition made for largely processional racing. Let’s face it, Glasgow came expecting to be beaten. Their choice of guests always looked poor and so it proved. I’m probably crazy saying this but most of the time I love the racing at Poole. There are no easy laps, no Polish style flat out road racing but instead, riders don’t have time to relax - just look at the entertainment served up by two of the leagues best, Lawson and Harris. On the detail - Lawson dirty? He had Hodder beaten and left him plenty of room. And the fast start that some thought the referee missed? Transponders are what are now used to determine a jump. Even by a fraction. No red light equals no jump

I think it’s the previous company - Northside Speedway Training Track Limited - that has been dissolved but don’t know anything about any other entity. Flat track is licensed by ACU so there would be no BSPL/SCB involvement and it’s that licence that has been suspended.
-
I agree completely and was under the impression that BSPL required promotions to be limited liability companies. But I can’t find any other active companies under Andrew Bain’s name
-
That company was wound up last month and couldn’t have been without HMRC consent. It has no further obligation to prepare accounts. My guess is that Workington Speedway operates as an unincorporated business rather than a limited company
-
I didn’t know that. I was sure I’d seen loads of moto-x riders wearing them but it must have just been a fancy scarf shaped like a neck brace or something like that…….

Glasgow Tigers Vs Poole Pirates 6/6/25
Wee Eck replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I’m clearly lost these days…….:) Why a guest for Boughen who rode (badly again) for KL last night? Likewise Dan Thompson rode for Ipswich. And what’s happened to Zach? -
Is Cairns on the RS list? Or will he be on 29 June? Seems tough on Mulford if he’s dropped as he’s doing the job he was taken on to do. 4+3 last Monday from three rides plus a fall when it looked like he was wiped out by his team partner, seems pretty solid to me.

The speed at which this name has appeared has to suggest a deal was done a few days ago, possibly after the under 21 qualifier at Glasgow. Ashton seemed to lose confidence towards the end of last year and has simply not ridden as expected in 2025. Such a shame as he looked fantastic when he burst on to the scene and it’s only to be hoped he finds his motivation again.

I admit to having very limited mechanical knowledge but, if you roll off the throttle, surely that limits the fuel so would reduce not increase “carbon stains”? And as methanol is a clean fuel, does it actually create carbon stains anywhere? ok

Edinburgh v Poole Championship Friday 16th May 7.30pm
Wee Eck replied to eide67's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
When will he get his new average and move to number 1? -
Matt Marson is hardly a young man. His first UK season was 7 years ago and he’s sadly not progressed beyond NDL level. He’s scored 2 points from 12 races for Poole, both gifts when Barker fell at Plymouth and Kerr retired at Oxford. This gives him a home average of zero, away of 1.33. it was brave of him to accept the offer of a CL place, but it can’t do his confidence any good being so far off the pace. So maybe he’s relieved to be let go?

New Helmet Regulations Incoming
Wee Eck replied to Dickie Head's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Surely it makes sense for British Speedway to follow international standards on crash helmets? If only they’d do the same with air barriers
