  1. Anyway enough cackling about what we don’t know let’s just get Workington back to the tapes and wish them well in this current hiccup
  2. If your referring to me as someone in the know I’m not, I have no association with the bspl or scb and have been in the past a thorn in their side and haven't they let me know, what I have is friends that I’ve built up over the years through the sport on both sides of the fence and that includes fans and we have a mutual trust of what we would pass on,imagine if I or they were to break that trust and tell the forum what they earn or what I earn (just for the record I haven’t got a pot to piss in ) others may feel it’s ok and that’s fine but I just feel riders income is a private thing unless they don’t mind telling it
  3. Not really, all you got to do is ask them , there is no closing ranks, I just think it’s nobody else’s business what riders earn that said speedway as it is now speedway can’t sustain it and having been on both sides of the fence I am trying to come up with ideas to keep both sides happy because as I see it that’s not what’s happening and no it isn’t my job to do it but I have little faith in the people who’s job it is, so if I can pass ideas on then maybe someone will listen, maybe not
  4. Don’t be so niave, what you see in newspapers and on tv about footballers wages has no basis in reality, it’s said to create headlines
  5. I said first 3 questions of which you agreed with and then posted give over marra? to me putting boot on other foot
  6. Would you like to tell us all on here how much your income is please because we would all like to know and all your outgoings, how much your pension plan is and any relevant financial dealings you have because we are nosey and feel it is our right to such information
  7. Then ask the rider or the promoters themselves, if they tell you then great
  8. Do you want to know the colour of his underpants too ? Not being rude but those first 3 questions have nothing to do with you, it’s someone’s private financial agreement
  9. Musielak has been brilliant after heat 1 but I think it’s 7 races he had at home in heat 1 and only beat an opponent once, he for whatever reason is dreadful in heat 1 and straight away we on the back foot, hoping barker can do something cause as I said those first 2 heats usual set the tone for the meeting
  10. Speedway is in comparison to thinks like motox relatively cheap at low to mid level and because of the low numbers of competitors is pretty easy these days to get into a team and if you want to just do for fun then there is tracks you can go almost every week, the downside is you will need to travel, as it is now it is unsustainable to carry on taking out more than is coming in but that doesn’t mean the team thing can’t work, it can and will but it needs leadership into the corporate world of which it doesn’t have, I agree the world is going to some dark places but that’s not speedway problem and neither should it be, I get you want to ride your bike for fun and you can nobody is stopping you, I do it myself a couple of times a year but the sport of speedway isn’t really aimed at the guys and girls like us, we have had our day,,we should know better by now and where we differ is I now want to watch league racing as I’ve always wanted to and there are 1000s who do but for whatever reasons as discussed above are choosing not too attend, speedway differs from other motorcycle sports because they are participant sports and speedway is primarily a fan sport, it is a team sport on bikes rather than a motorcycle sport
  11. The only thing that is healthy and grassroots like is the GT140 grasstrack which they run on speedway tracks too,I have considered it as a bit of fun but decided it’s not for me as the engines are just not fast enough but it seems to be having a bit of a surge in participants and I think the GT140 championships have about 10 rounds per year at different tracks
  12. Some very valid points there but there is amateur racing where you pay to race, Scunthorpe, Leicester, Isle of Wight and Lydd all run amatuer meetings
  13. You would be surprised who reads this forum, sometimes just as a guest, hi to you all 😉
  14. 2 questions will decide this match.1 will musielak actually beat an opponent in heat 1? and will barker beat Kvech in heat 2 ? If neither of these happen it’s another defeat I think
  15. I put it on the forum months ago about speedway running as a charity,my reason for this idea/thought was brought about by a team looking for some land was told yes you can build a track here but it’s a few million pound but other sports on the site get their facility built for free by the council via grants because they are either a charity or amateur basis and not the professional entity it parades round as ,anyway I was thinking how do you pay professional riders if your a charity? Then I read today that the Glastonbury festival is a charity, really ? That is either the biggest scam in Britain or a genius way to run things,Is the way forward for the sport ?
  16. But have TV viewing fiqures on par with 2or 3 tier football and more than most other sports at league level so the question is really how do we get those people into stadiums
  17. Well as long as you’re there cheering them on I’m sure they will be giving there all to prove you wrong
