Doyle is another level tonight -
It’s not a red hearing, the ferry is so expensive now(best part of £200 per van ) that it made the speedway unviable but through sponsorship they have overcome those issues, we have just received the fixtures this week
-
The Isle of Wight problems were the ferry company, nothing to do with the events they were putting on and they now have overcome those issues and are running 7 meetings from end of this month

There are facilities for amatuer riders to compete all be it not at every track and they really struggle to get enough riders to do it, Leicester, scunny, Lydd, iwade and Isle of Wight all do amatuer meetings, kings Lynn used to do it but it died off, you only have to look at the midland development league, riders get paid and there still not enough riders to go round
-
As I said once retired most stay retired they just not interested, I’m not saying you don’t raise some interesting points about the concept but I just don’t see it, as I said I have knowledge of this and it’s like asking them to lend you £50,000
-
Who are these veteran riders you speak of ? I have a good knowledge of this and of all the riders that have raced over the years , 99% of them have no interest in riding a bike ever again and the 1% that have a little skid now and again have no inclination to want to race let alone have the equipment to do it
-
They are paying the clubs but it isn’t a fraction for what a major company like discovery should be paying for a sport like speedway of which if they did the sport would be in a better financial state that it’s on now

Hopefully track is on the slick side like last week against Leicester but even then can’t see a win for Birmingham here -
Belle Vue v Ipswich Monday 30th June

Does seem an odd one, rode for Poznan on Friday scored 3, couldn’t see anywhere else he rode over weekend but maybe carrying an injury from previous meeting ? -

Anyway enough cackling about what we don’t know let’s just get Workington back to the tapes and wish them well in this current hiccup

If your referring to me as someone in the know I’m not, I have no association with the bspl or scb and have been in the past a thorn in their side and haven't they let me know, what I have is friends that I’ve built up over the years through the sport on both sides of the fence and that includes fans and we have a mutual trust of what we would pass on,imagine if I or they were to break that trust and tell the forum what they earn or what I earn (just for the record I haven’t got a pot to piss in ) others may feel it’s ok and that’s fine but I just feel riders income is a private thing unless they don’t mind telling it
-
Not really, all you got to do is ask them , there is no closing ranks, I just think it’s nobody else’s business what riders earn that said speedway as it is now speedway can’t sustain it and having been on both sides of the fence I am trying to come up with ideas to keep both sides happy because as I see it that’s not what’s happening and no it isn’t my job to do it but I have little faith in the people who’s job it is, so if I can pass ideas on then maybe someone will listen, maybe not

Don’t be so niave, what you see in newspapers and on tv about footballers wages has no basis in reality, it’s said to create headlines

I said first 3 questions of which you agreed with and then posted give over marra? to me putting boot on other foot
