Very interesting article about andreas jonsson on skysports!
Top speedway rider Andreas Jonsson wants to throw his lot in with his adopted country Poland after falling out with the Swedish national federation.
The 28-year-old Swede no longer wants to represent his homeland after falling out with Svemo, the Swedish motorcycling federation.
The root of their dispute is a 1,000-krona (104-euro) fine Jonsson received for pulling out of last month's Swedish championships following concerns about the rain-soaked track.
He now represents Poland, where speedway is highly popular and he is a star riding for the Polonia Bydgoszcz team.
"I've have enough of Sweden. I want to be a Pole," Jonsson told Poland's PAP news agency.
"I've already filled in the application for Polish citizenship. I have my base in Bydgoszcz, and also have a home there."
The Grand Prix rider added: "I'm fed up with Svemo. I won't be representing them any more and I won't be going to the finals of individual championships next year
