  1. Both meetings likely to be dull, as Jonsson is missing for Bydgoszcz and Bjerre is missing for Gdansk.
  2. He has also been a world champion, but you left the under-21s out of your list.
  3. The Poles pay to stage these events. As long as they pay, BSI will keep giving events to them. Who is going to pay to host an event at Hampden Park?
  4. Rico is fantastic, I agree. This year he seems more settled and it's coming across in his attitude. But Harris also deserves praise. He's a true gentleman.
  5. http://www.soccer-live.pl/sopcast/player.h...lic%20Sport%201
  6. Nermark's injured, Jonasson is banned, and Ruud's going well this year.
  7. D stands for "defekt". So that's an engine failure for Gafurov and not a crash.
  8. Maybe he thinks Daugavpils is just down the road from Armadale?
  9. In days gone by riders could be seeded to the world final. I think a Pole (Slawomir Drabik) was seeded to the 1992 world final. The host nation is guaranteed a representative at most, if not all, FIM speedway events. It's just that the events are largely held in countries where a number of riders from the host nation are likely to qualify by right. For example, the final of the qualification process in 2006 (Sweden), 2007 (Denmark) and 2008 (Poland). No doubt it was expected that Britain would have plenty of qualifiers at Coventry.
  10. The Russian has made no difference at all. Last season there was a rider from the Czech Republic. The two seasons before there was a rider from Slovenia.
  11. Over half the population of Daugavpils is ethnically Russian.
  12. In that case, only fifteen will qualify from the semi-finals, since a British rider is guaranteed a place in the final at Coventry.
  13. Fell in his first race and withdrew after his second, obviously suffering from the effects of the fall.
  14. And there is a disused track in Warsaw, near the airport.
  15. Cracow, although there are plans for a meeting there this summer to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Nowa Huta.
  16. It isn't - was postponed last night after the World Under-21 meeting in Pardubice was changed to today.
  17. Perhaps Nieminen was in the top 6. Do you know please, Sandie?
