  1. Strange no British riders are listed and I know that one is definitely riding as his dad texted me last night to say he was waiting to for the ferry. I just love the way the juniors are ignored unless someone's complaining about the lack of quality young British talent yet at the same time don't support them when they do ride, as highlighted by the lack of support at the British under 15's Championship. I hope Ashley got an engine sorted and all the riders have a good safe meeting.
  2. Glad the news is reasonably positive, hope they're both up and riding again soon. Congratulations to all the riders who took part it was a really entertaining afternoon (except for Heat 3 of the 500's). It's a shame that it wasn't well attended but those of us there enjoyed it.
  3. That's OK. I saw that Adam and Ashley were in Germany. I hope it went well, saw Ashley came 3rd but no word on Adam. Glad the wife is getting better, I met you both at Weymouth and she didn't seem like the type of lady to sit around and feel sorry for herself.
  4. Hi P'boro Lad I just get annoyed with people like him even though I know they're not worth the bother. Hope you wife is feeling better now
  5. Hi I'm Adam's Auntie and can confirm his birth date is 6th Feb 1995
  6. Jolly Roger you are a real piece of work. This is the second time I've seen you having a go at kids on this forum. Wind your neck in and go pick on someone your own size.
  7. Don't know about Tom Stokes but Adam is currently in the Isle of Man so couldn't compete today. His dad was praying for rain so that the meeting would be postponed.
  8. Well done to all those who are taking part in the Under 15's Championship and I can't wait for the Isle of Wight leg. I am a reasonably new speedway fan and have started attending Swindon meetings (Kings Lynn when i'm visiting family) and there was no less excitement at Weymouth than there is at these meetings. If you get the chance to go to one of these Under 15's meetings I would recommend it. Well done to Ashley and Robert on winning and everyone else for a great day out. Just a passing thought. Was Darcy Ward's 3rd places for Belle Vue against Coventry nothing to be proud of? After all there were only 4 riders in his races, but I bet he was pleased and shockingly he 'only' achieved 4th in Heat 15. Shame on him, I think not
  9. It's a shame really that you can't understand how a dad can be proud of a son who shows such commitment to a sport he loves, but I bet every parent who was there on Saturday can, regardless of when their meeting ended. Adam gets very little practice racing but has given his all at Newport and Weymouth even when racing against people who are regularly riding in the National League. He had a terrifying start in heat 2 when he flipped his bike and narrowly avoided being involved in the crash in heat 5. All sports people have to start somewhere, generally at the bottom and it is the pride and support their friends and family give that help them become stars. Comments like yours will not help resolve the problems speedway is having attracting youngsters to the sport. A very wise woman instilled into me a very apt phrase "If you can't say something nice, say nothing". Thank you to 771Neil and HalifaxTiger for the positive comments.
