  1. I can see a relatively comfortable home win here, around 52-38. Lindgren and Brennan to keep things interesting and it will be a challenge for the Aces reserves facing Palm Toft.
  2. Tate has released the following statement from his hospital bed:- Tate Zischke 1h · Hello everyone just want to jump on and thank everyone for all the messages and hospital visits this means a lot I haven't been able to get back to everyone but thanks everyone. It's going to be a long bumpy road to recovery I will spend the coming weeks in hospital fighting to get better each day. It has been a rough few days so far but we will keep flighting. So far I can let you all know I have fractured 7 vertebrae and 5 ribs and have a nasty entry and exit hole in my left bum cheek where I was penetrated by my bike when I followed by bike into the fence. I have so far had 1 surgery on my ass cheek and have been told I will need a couple more in the coming days. I want to let everyone know this crash was 100% a racing incident and nobody is at fault. I will keep everyone updated on what is happening next Good to read that he doesn't blame Keynan Rew in any way for the accident. Wish him well.

  4. Local media reporting that Tate has suffered multiple broken ribs and vertebrae in the accident. Obviously out for the season. Just hope he makes a full recovery
  5. A really upsetting crash and the atmosphere leaving the stadium was as subdued as I can remember for a long time. He made a fine debut beforehand and looked like he could be a game changer for Belle Vue, but that doesn't matter now, I just hope that he can make a full recovery with rest and rehabilitation. There's an update on the Manchester Evening News website this morning saying that Tate is 'comfortable' - not the best use of words. 6. Horrific crash, thoughts are with young Tate.
  7. Poor meeting from Belle Vue's point of view, Kurtz & Blodorn aside. Lidsey, Cook and Bewley (especially) will have to be more consistent if the Aces are to have any impact this season. They'll be fine at home, but away they are sadly lacking. Well done to Birmingham though, well deserved. Like others, I can't understand why heat 15 wasn't awarded - potentially a totally unfair result if Bewley had turned left a bit harder in the rerun.
  8. I think it will be pretty close, but the Aces Big Guns will see them through at the end 43-47
  9. Think the Aces might struggle a bit here. They will need Blodorn, Cook and Lidsey to really turn up if they are to have a chance. 50-40
  10. A close one for sure, but I think that the Sheffield heat leaders will prove too strong in heats 13 & 15.
  11. I agree with most of the posters that Ipswich will be too strong on Thursday. 10-14 point margin. Belle Vue will be very strong at home based on their collective performances in the Peter Craven Memorial Trophy, but they'll need Lidsey, Cook or Blodorn to develop into a genuine third heat leader if they are to win many away matches.
  12. Very enjoyable meeting with some good racing and lots to talk about on the way home. What more could you ask for at this stage of the season? Seeing Kurtz and Bewley battle it out in the final with Fricke just behind is what speedway should be all about. The track staff should be congratulated on an excellent track for the time of year. Thought Celine did very well to be honest and she improved every race.
  13. I'm sure rider replacement will be at Belle Vue as well.
  14. I concur with other posters. Hans was a great servant to British speedway and was always good with the fans and media. Sad to see him struggle last season. I'm also glad that he's retired on his own terms without any long term injuries. Thanks Hans, hope to see you around the tracks.
  15. I think that the signing of Celine is undoubtably a marketing ploy to attract the media attention - and fans as well. If it attracts a few more young girls to watch the sport, and maybe even give it a try in the future, then Workington are to be applauded for their vision. I don't think that anyone expects her to be desperately competitive, but that's not the real reason she has been given an opportunity. Good luck to her and the promotion for having the balls to do this (I know what I did there!)
