  1. Having three rounds of fixtures, plus playoffs will test the patience of the most ardent fans. If I miss a match, it will be a case of 'oh well, they're here again in a few weeks'. What if the 'third round' had a different race format with six or five rider teams with no guests allowed? At least it would bring a little more interest as we get to the peak spectator time of July / August.
  2. I agree, but they are finding it hard enough to sort out 2026 at this point, let alone 2027!
  3. I think that there needs to be a meeting of promoters of both current league in June / July next year to discuss 2027. There's no point leaving it until after the season ends. If there are disagreements (which there obviously will be), there needs to be sufficient time to arrange follow up discussions and come to some compromise. If there could be a big 'reveal' meeting (and try to get as much media involved as possible), it would be a good start to the new era. Maybe a change of name for the league as well - the British Speedway Super League perhaps? ''Dormant' and potential new tracks can get involved, riders could make plans, supporters could consider season tickets as Christmas presents, media can get engaged.
  4. So sorry for Ipswich fans who must be devasted. The Louis family have been a credit to the sort in various guises and, whilst having a Witches bias (which is completely understandable), have always put the interests of the sport in general first. The sport is crying out for an independent supremo to be the figurehead, face and voice of the sport. Fans, media and sponsors have no idea how the sport is governed. I for one would be more than happy if that was Chris Louis.
  5. Fantastic news! Hopefully the lessons learnt from last season can be put to good effect. Wonder if the temporary stands could be made a little bigger (with a proper sound system) next year?
  6. A rider universally liked and for good reason. Apart from being an exciting, world class rider, he appears to be a fine human being who cares for the fans and the sport in general. British speedway is all the poorer for his absence.
  7. Fair play to Ipswich a fully deserved result. To be honest at the mid point of the meeting I was just hoping that somehow we'd get a home win. Blodorn and Mulford gave me a little bit of hope, but the Witches fought back well and rode sensibly. Doyle in particular had a great meeting. Virtually no chance for the Aces on Thursday but always thought that we're the fourth best team in the playoffs. On to next season with several changes for Belle Vue, irrespective of the league structure.
  8. Chance for the Aces middle order and reserves to score a few points for a change. 60-30
  9. Michelsen £100 more Lebedevs £300 more Holder £100 less
  10. Great to see him back, must have taken some guts to do that for the first time.
  11. Another really good meeting at the NSS. Bewley out testing machinery after the meeting, he obviously wasn't quite at his best tonight, but hats off to Max Fricke who was excellent all night. Nice to see Zischke being competitive and his heat 14 exploits must give him some more confidence. Given the choice, I think I'd prefer Leicester in the semis, but our reserves (and Blodorn away) are too much of a long tail this season.
  12. A quick shower of rain just now (about six miles away), but back to being sunny and windy. Looking forward to seeing Will Cairns to be honest. If he performs well, will it give Mark Lemon a decision to make regarding Jake Mulford? I think tonight depends on if Max Fricke gets sufficient support from his team mates, otherwise BV should have too much top end strength. 50-40
  13. I enjoyed Emil's battles with Kurtz and Bewley. He's a classy rider and always leaves space for the other rider. A crying shame he's not allowed to perform on the world stage. Good win for Belle Vue, I won't deny that I was apprehensive beforehand, but a combination of Ipswich injuries and the Aces heat leaders being on fine form tipped the balance.
  14. So sorry to hear this. A true expert of his craft and a lovely character too. RIP Mike and condolences to his family and friends.
  15. A chance for Zach Cook, Zische (especially) and Blodorn to have a confidence booster. 54-36 Aces
  16. A video of the final race should be kept permanently on the GB Speedway website. When any potential new fan looked at that, they couldn't fail to be impressed. A fantastic race with no quarter given by all four riders. When you watch it again, you can almost imagine them smiling under their helmets - they were having fun out there!
  17. Can't see beyond the first three to be honest. They are a level above the rest
