Maybe Fay the Fascist did? After she was interned between 1940-1943 for being a 'danger to the state' she did race cars until she retired in the late 50s.As it states on wikepedia, her fascist affiliations were omitted from post-war publicity

Well looking at the track records 1954 seems likely seeing as 2 seconds were knocked off the record time, but if you say it was earlier then you might be right

On this excellent site about West Ham it states 1954 http://www.freewebs.com/customhousekid/trackrecords.htm Seem to recall a story about Hoskins wanting his riders to race against Cheetahs.Don't think it came off,but Cheetah racing was seen at the Romford track.I wonder if this was where he got the idea from? http://www.vaguelyinteresting.co.uk/the-great-romford-and-harringay-cheetah-races/

Then again i doubt if Tony Rickarsson lives in Dorset.

Think the right phrase is "was a rider".Not that good and must have retired a few years back now

If they hear TRick is riding at Poole next season maybe he is the next person they phone up........ -
Sounds good apart from when i looked at the weather it said for Ribe at least rain, rain, rain for the next 6 days or so,which is sort of putting me off Holsted on saturday.Might go to the tuesday league meeting if the weather gets better though

Yes,it looks to me like they are going to try and take speedway to new areas in the States.Break out of California and maybe just start a new revival.Fingers crossed from someone who witnessed Autrey and McKnight coming over in 1973

I remember a female rider in Germany about 12-14 years ago now who couldn't slide a bike. She would give a bit of gas down the straghtaway and then podle round the bends and then a bit of gas etc.But because she rode within herself she picked up a few points most meetings as one or two riders would lose control and fall.......

Yes,the referee at the world U21 meeting at the weekend was a woman from Austria,Suzanne Hüttinger or similar

According to speedweek the last German rider will be Lukas Fienhage

Big new development for next season......although no details so far,but keep your eyes peeled https://www.speedwaycalifornia.com/ Seems the guy behind this is Jeffrey Immediato, who made quite a passionate post about his efforts at Industry with plenty f accusations about corruption etc.Had lots of hurdles put in his way,but has kept going and put his money where his mouth is with a lot of help from his wife

Of course he and others would.Tracks can also be bad in Poland.A few tracks were fined by the Polish federation for the state of them.Plus as bad, maybe even worse is that riders are pretty much forced by the clubs to turn up and ride even when not fit.Nicki P was a couple of years ago for instance Although to balance things up,it was reported here in the press that Tobi Busch was being forced to return to Redcar before he was fully recovered from injury last week..... -
I think rather than Rune Holta a far better example in this case is Joonas Kylmäkorpi. He was born in Sweden of Finnish parents.Won the Swedish U21 championship, but went on to represent Finland and i think finally changed back to being Swedish.....he had dual citizenship So it entirely possible for someone with British heritage to win the German U21 championship and still go on to represent GB.Not sure what Daniel or Ethans wish is for the future, but to be honest i think they won't get to a level where we will be worried that they didn't choose GB if they go for riding for Germany. As for Daniel taking a Brits place, well surely that was reciprocated by Robert Lambert riding in Germany from the age of about 15.......

Watched a bit of the 'proper' World Games.Yesterday some womens frisbee sort of football and now watching a bit of some sort f larger volleyball with more players and a bigger field. Not very well supported.Even less than yesterdays world U21 final,so hope the speedway will be a bit of a boost for the tournament

I wonder with some reasonable estimates of the crowd being 32,000,at what level will it not be viable to hold the GP in Cardiff? If the crowd level falls much below 30,000.What we have at the moment is one of the best British riders ever out there and the crowds are still falling.bviously a reflection of the general support for speedway falling. But take that and then the chance in a few years that Tai isn't up there and we have no-one to take his place the crowd could fall quite alarmingl.Just like Phil said the interest in Sweden dropped off once TRick retired and my prediction is this could well happen in Denmark over the next couple of years as Nicki goes out of the GPs and possibly speedway altogether

Air horns are a bit like canned laughter. The stadium could just play the noise over the loudspeakers to save all those people the bother and also help the environment

Tbh i was wondering yesterday if this was a poor year for the U21's.Ok i am willing to give the track a fair bit of the blame, but Drabik aside the quality seemed poor. The two Danes, especially Partick Hansen looked well off the pace.Lyager only finished a point behind Lambert(i think) but looked nowhere near as good.Lambert did look good at the start and give him the benefit of the doubt that he might have injured himself and that caused his poor form afterwards. But his gating looks like it will hinder his progress. There are just going to be tracks like this one where it will be hard to impossible to pass and when you add opposition who will be hard to impossible to pass, you have no chance if you give them a few metres head start to the first bend. How much Brady Kurtz injury hampered him i can't say.Kostigovs was about the best of the rest without doing much Just have to wait until Güstrow to get a better idea, although as i mentioned elsewhere i am hoping to make it to the Danish U21 final at the weekend to see just where these two Danes stand against some of the other hopefulls -
I thought Spiller was born in Kent? Not sure on that but sure he can hold dual passports until the UK leave the EU.Winning the German U21 title doesn't stop him riding for GB.Robert Lambert also rode in the German U21 championship

Looked like one of our old members there with Henrik Möller standing by the ambulance.Rasmus Terkelsen? Haven't seen Jesper, but had to laugh at the old Polish guy who must have been wearing the same green stuff with the green cap for 10 years or more?????
