Nicki Pedersen Denmark's Top Model
iris123 replied to rob tatum's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Seen a few pics of her and it raised an eyebrow, but was I the only one who was surprised at Greg and how different he seemed at the GP?Maybe it is a while since I have seen him on tv,but he looked a bit strange to me.Thinner?Older? -
Not sure that is true.Lowly Ice Hockey also seems to announce attendances around Europe including the UK league

And turn up on a Triumph Street Triple bike or a modern Porsche

Sort of made my mind up for which day, just not sure about which meetings i'd like to see The day:06.08.1928 The meetings in London area on that Bank Holiday Monday were Wimbledon (40,000 crowd) High Beech 2 meetings,1 morning + 1 afternoon Lea Bridge 2 meetings 1 afternoon and 1 evening which was abandoned due to bad light Stamford Bridge (30,000 crowd) West Ham Crystal Palace had a gymkhana with some dirt track races I know Wimbledon,High Beech and Lea Bridge culd be done in the day as Noel Johnson rode in all 3,and Wimbledon and Stamford Bridge could also be done as Art Pechar rode in those.Wonder if with a motorbike or car it would have been possible to catch a few heats at each of those tracks? and get to see some greats like Pechar,Sprouts Elder,Jim Kempster,Roger Frogley,Frank Arthur and Mart Seiffert etc The Swindon track at Gorse Hill also held a meeting the same day Thanks to Brian Collins work on the 1928 season vie the Speedway Researcher site

Great, super You'll be telling us that Greyhounds don't make as much noise as speedway bikes next. Thanks for the insight -
I have mentioned this a few times, but was amazed the first time I went to the Wills Internationale to see a massive queue weaving its way through the car park, and I was at the stadium fairly early. At Wimbledon in the early 70s we'd have maybe 3 meetings per season where there would be quite big queues. Can only imagine what it would have been like in the 40s and 50s.

I was thinking of specific meetings, because knowing my luck i'd travel back to 1932 and the meeting at Crystal Palace or Stamford Bridge etc would have been called off that day

I like the 'open day' idea that Güstrow do.A day for the kids really with face painting, bouncy castle etc,but also junior speedway and for anyone in the crowd a chance to do a bit of cycle speedway. The pits are also open for evyrone to have a look at how the youngsters and their fathers/mothers are going about setting up the bikes.A look behind the scenes as it were, and it is free to get in Does it help with the crowds?I can't say,but as it has been going on for a number of years,i guess the club thinks it worthwhile. At least it helps attract a few youngsters to the sport and gets the club out into the community http://www.speedevent.de/mcg/

Have you been to Teterow before? If you want to drink Riesling, you'll have to buy it before you get to the track in my experience

At this point in time, unsure. Will let you know nearer the time if I do decide

All good suggestions Personally not sure.I was looking at maybe a South London derby...Crystal Palace v Stamford Bridge.Maybe Wimbledon against one of those, but when I looked at meetings both Ray Tauser and Billy Lamont were missing due to injury for instance. But I now think I should look at the national Trophy maybe as there were more heats. But also possibly an England v Australia test.Still searching or my meeting, that is why I was interested in others thoughts. But Deano's idea of the chance of 2 meetings in 1 day is a good one

I note today that a plaque commemorating Antoni Woryna has been unveiled and the wording on that plaque state "Pierwszy Polski Medalista Indywidualnych Mistrzostw Swiata Reprezentant ROW Rybnik",which shows the importance of the world final. No mention of any other competitions at all -

Yes,the British rider who has on his own won as many world titles as the great Polish nation. He can do amazing things like win world titles and ride in Polish league.Maybe your riders need to ask him how he does that? -

In the end no-one remembers who passed who on the first mile of a marathon,it is who gets to the finishing line first. You don't seem to understand the concept of a GP season.I was not trying to be antagonistic, just asking a genuine question of why Poland have failed so often to produce someone who is capable of winning the main title in speedway, not just since BSI have been producing the track surface, but also on days when Poland done them on their own.I mean,it is always claimed that Germany produced a track to give them a world champ, why were Poland never capable of doing this? -

They have to be better than most previous polish riders,as despite producing some great ones all they have to show for it is the same as lowly Germany when it comes to individual world titles.Something must be wrong with the polish mentality to fail so often,i guess? -
If there was an opportunity to travel back in time, which meeting would you love to see?

Fingers crossed for this one,not only for Belle Vue and British speedway, but particularly for my mate 'conkers' who I am sure is desperate to get a few photos of actual racing -
Anyway ignoring the knobs attempts to bring yet another thread down to his stupid level,my hopes of getting to a meeting soon have been dashed yet again. There is a meeting going on at the moment at my local track. But unfortunately due to family commitments I couldn't attend.I was hoping to get to the track a bit further away on Thursday, but they have already called the meeting off!!!Which means if I want to get to a meeting Thursday i'll have to travel 2 hours or more....

Comedy Gold, just like one of the other Admin getting all upset because he has posted 70 or 80 photos and no-one has made a comment!!!! Dream team you are

I don't 'claim' anything. He stated you got on his nerves and upset his wife previously,so he set up a site that you are not welcome to join. That was enough for me and others to follow And from what I hear you hounded another guy(Omar) off one site, probably because he was posting more interesting stuff than you and also had the sense to block you Your own site that weird world thing is just copying stuff from elsewhere and getting hardly any response the last time I looked, which say' it all

Speedway Champions League ?
iris123 replied to PolskiZuzel's topic in International World of Speedway
According to you rmando is never to blame for anything!!! I wonder just what he does then apart from avoid taking the blame for all the problems that have occurred during his reign. He isn't just a figure head is he???Of course after all the disasters we have had during his reign he should shoulder a fair proportion of the blame I suppose you believe Sepp Blatter when he say's he had nothing to do with and had no knowledge of all the buying votes for World Cup Finals as well? -
