  1. Todays meeting at Stralsund was cancelled due to bad weather.Lucky i chose to heed the weather forecasts and not travel Track photos
  2. It seems that all the teams will be back again next year to compete in the Danish Speedway League.Even getting squads sorted out early. The one problem as Peter S pointed out on another thread is the grading system.Seems Henrik Vedel has made the decision to retire as he was moved up from grade C into the grade B category. And as Nicolai Klindt pointed out in his interview on here the system can force riders to sit it out on the sidelines as the team can only use a certain amount of riders from each grade. Two squads have been announced so far, plus Holsted have their Danish riders signed up plus a couple of Polish riders. Esbjerg A-grade Kenneth Bjerre Adam Skornicki Norbert Kosciuch B-grade Mads Korneliussen Brian Lyngsø Tobias Busch C-Kører: Krister Jacobsen Johannes Kikkenborg D-grade Bjarne Nilsson Karsten Højhus Michael Palm Toft(2006 80cc World Champ) Good strong squad all the way through.Obviously relying on KB to do most meetings as i can't see Skornicki or Kosciuch being good replacements. But Brian Lyngsø was one of the riders of the season for me and alongside Mads are a very strong B grade pairing. And both Krister Jacobsen and Johannes Kikkenborg impressed.Remains to be seen what M.P.Toft can do as i hardly heard about him this year Slangerup A-grade Jesper B Jensen Grzegorz Walasek B-grade Kenneth Hansen Morten Risager Ricky Kling Jernej Kolenko C-grade Dannie Søderholm Carsten Hansen Matej Kus D-grade Jesper Kristiansen Michael Melchiorsen Another strong squad and a title challenging one at that.Lot of strength in depth here.Jesper was 4th in this seasons averages(can't count Ulamek's one appearance really). And looking at their grade B riders it is obvious why Henrik was forced out.He wouldn't be able to compete for a team place against Kenneth or Morten.Couple of good replacements if the others are unavailable.Søderholm will be a good C-grade signing from Holsted, plus what looks to be a coup in getting exciting young Czech rider Kus in on a C-grade.The other Jesper Kristiansen and young ex-Vojens title winning 80cc rider Michael Melchiorsen should do well at D-grade.I wonder if Peter S is happy with that squad? I see the Grindsted squad has also been announced from speedwayzone Grindsted A-grade Rune Holta Kaj Laukkanen B-grade Kyle Legault Freddie Eriksson Henning Bager Jesper Kristiansen C-grade Anders Andersen Peter Juul Larsen Sönke Petersen D-grade Kalle Greve Paw Mikkelsen A much improved squad on last year with Rune and Kyle Legault as well as Kaj Also have some very good Danish youngsters in the C-grade(i imagine) in Anders Andersen and Peter Juul Larsen.Sönke is good back-up for the two,on his day.The D grade riders might be weak though. The question is,can Grindsted improve on their 7th place this season?
  3. Think you are right.I have a Hackney photo with a rider in green, but don't know who it is.Schofield,Galvin and Whittaker are in the same photo There are a few riders who wear green here in Germany.Kevin Wölbert for one and i think Okoniewski also wears green.Might be to do with the Boll sponsorship
  4. Seen a few pics of Ole Olsen with early sponsorship. He had an Ole Olsen-Duckhams body colour on in one of Briggos books taken in the early 70s(70 or 71 i think).Plus i have a couple of pics of not only him but Finn Thomsen with Jawa on their leathers.Maybe Finn was wearing an old pair of Ole's.They are from 73-74.Also i have a pics of Garry Middleton in 73 with Lewis(i imagine Lewis Leathers)on both arms and just underneath is what looks to be the Shell emblem. Not so sure when Sparshott was wearing white leathers but there were quite a number with white leathers i think.Maybe not mayn with green leathers but Ray Morton had green leathers in his Wimbledon days.Seem to remember Peter Collins having very colourful leathers(often changed)during that 73-76-ish.Maybe my memory is not so good but i thought he had some with green in there as well.Sort of multi-coloured thick bands
  5. Quite by coincidence there was an interview with Igor Plechanov posted online yesterday and Igor Kalshnik gets a mention Here Sad to hear the news of Mr Karneev's death
  6. Think that is the camp that one or two of the Polish riders are going to But the Swedes say the same about the Danish
  7. Not really a transfer rumour, but i'll stick the post here Any of our Polish fans heard about the possibility of Güstrow joining the 2 Liga? Seems to be a rumour on the German forum and the source supposedly a Polsih newspaper
  8. He is riding again this season.14th-16th December they will be having a training camp and World Championship quali. That is probably all the Swedish riders first meeting.Though i am not sure on that
  9. Which brings up an interesting point. When did sponsors find there way onto leathers?Cyril Maidment had sponsorship on his leathers.Elite motors, just round the corner from my grandads house. That must have been around 1970/71
  10. I think it was the only time the last two places were occupied by riders with Oliver in their name?Oliver Hart & Dent Oliver. One as a christian name, the other as a surname.Am i right or did that occur in another final?
  11. Well England done a clean sweep.Pretty special i would say
  12. I mentioned the meeting at Güstrow before.Ok the Danish team might get a meeting or two in before as most will be riding in Britain but for the German,Croatian and French! riders it will be their first meeting of the season most probably
  13. Well i have a pic of Olle Nygren in black & white(but they look multi-coloured)in his West Ham days.1969-70(?) Edit:If you know what i mean
  14. Well in the Wimbledon team photo of 1973 there are no riders with the classic black leathers.Only Neil Cameron has mainly black with red/yellow bands on his arms. Edit:Actually the 72 team was also multi coloured apart from Neil Cameron as well
  15. Yes i agree,it was good from all of the western riders.Good to see Tuinstra back among the points as well.Sure i read somewhere that they had a 7 day journey on the train to get there. And most if not all the western riders would have been on borrowed bikes

  17. According to the latest news on the Beru web-site dated today there will only be 1 Golden Spike meeting. To translate the article For 2008 there were 4 meetings planned in the series.Steingaden(D),St.Johann(A),Flims(CH) and a meeting in Finland.Because of the very high price of petrol the nominated riders ruled a meeting in Finland out. MSC Steingaden decided to run their own Open meeting on the 6th january. And so St.Johann and Flims decided to put the series on ice and like this year just run the one meeting. That will be on the 19th january at Flims. And then a bit about the decision not to run a meeting at Erfurt because of Easter/Assen/Berlin,no date could be found Article here

  19. Seems Wroclaw are signing another top Danish junior to replace Nicolai Klindt
  20. See,i told you Aarnio is a regular.Unfortunately Sekula is injured and won't be riding in either Stralsund or Schwerin He will though be in attendance in Stralsund to help the son of his sponsor
  21. Couple of excellent photos.Bogdanov,Baraboshkin,Tschajka and Tschatschin. Then Krasnikov,Bulankin,V.Khomitsevitsch and Tuinstra Here
  22. Has Erik been borrowed or not tommy? Plus it seems the news that Tobias Busch has signed for anyone is premature. He is still negotiating and will go to Poland this or next weekend to do a deal And good to see Tommy Pedersen sign up in Poland
  23. Doesn't Dutch speedway get boring with the same riders all the time?
