  1. I agree,up to a point. But an incident such as Honey described when after winning a race at Plough Lane he starts waving to the crowd, etc and then falls off, well i'm sure a large section of the crowd would have laughed or cheered. That is different to a racing incident as such, even though from experience some of the seemingly harmless falls have turned out to be more serious then spectacular ones.I would find it hard to be upset at someone who cheered at such an incident. I can't comment on Sky's presentation as i haven't seen it,but most speedway that i have seen on tv does seem to show proportionaly more crashes than anything else. The coverage of the Ice Speedway World Final here last year was about 50% crashes! If that then attracts fans that are expecting to see crashes and think they are an exciting part of the sport, should we be surprised. It would be interesting to hear from fans who were first attracted to the sport via tv,.What was it from the coverage that attracted them to the sport
  2. Peter S.Whats the news concerning Patrick Hougaard and Casper Wortmann with their injuries
  3. Here for live updates of tonights 2 meetings
  4. Mmmm, not too sure WATigerman.Although i earlier dismissed Dougie because mine is also not immediately the same, there are unusual simmilarities.Here.The squiggle at the end of what would be Doug, also the fact that in both the second swoop up is bigger than the others. Not a writing expert but it could be unusual to get such similarities. My one is from 73/74 so about the same time.
  5. Its interesting to see where Sullivan is in the Swedish aves.No 35! A bit of difference there
  6. What the gick has this got to do with speedway.Cricket is about as interesting as watching 6 F1 cars doing 70 laps Stick it in general discussions
  7. Oh,that reminded me of the good old days of Bruce Forsyth and Anthea Redfearn Lets have a look at the old score board
  8. Well,a great day for the German riders.3 through and one reserve place Oh and the Brits didn't do bad either
  9. Looks like the Slovenian rider has pulled out of the meeting after a fall.Reiterate what i said earlier hope its nothing serious Hope it is nothing more than a "headache"
  10. Yeah, seems to be a few falls.Hope everyone gets through the meeting o.k
  11. Well KK seems to be o.k,as he won the heat
  12. I think it is on wins,so Stange is through Schultz reserve and Risager is out
  13. How can you say that In one heat the 2 of the better riders were out.In the other there wasn't much oppo.Wait a bit first
  14. Stuck Nilsson's on my webshots Again similar, but not quite.Always a chance that he signed it different on occasions.Have a number from I.Mauger and Ole olsen where they signed only their first name other times the whole name.Like i say John Louis signed with differing styles also
  15. I would say from the examples i have its not Ray Wilson P.C D.Wyer D.J Malc C.Glover Similar to but different to Louis. Here, and that is the closest of a few i have. The rest are more rounded in the middle Sjosten Bengt and Tommy Jansson S.Karlsson T:Nilsson also have from that period T.Pettersson C.Lofqvist K.Salmonsson(?) O.Nygren B.Larsson A lot of the Swedish riders i got at the Hackney test match the same year From what i have there are similarities with Arthur Price,Lou Sansom and maybe Bengt Larsson
  16. Like it By the way did you see the recent "Greatest Czech of all time" vote? Was news here this week as a "German" Kaiser(born in Prague) won, after a fictional character was eliminated
  17. At a guess Jim,i think as he says, he has an idea and wants to see if anyone comes up with the same answer. If whoever got the autograph was like me,it might not be a rider that was riding that night.Got Szczakiels sig when he made a visit to Plough Lane,Mike Bast, the Russian team....I can eliminate a good few of the Swedish side of that time Sjosten,Lofqvist,Jansson,Nygren
  18. Think it will be on Henrik Mollers web-site as well,if anything happens to the Slovenian one. Here
  19. Its about 25 km north west of Copenhagen, near Fredrikssund.Route finder here if it helps
  20. I'd say defo no to Anders from the examples i have.He just wrote Anders, and it finished with a definite "s" end and didn't tail off.Thing is i'm sure iv'e seen this one before...
  21. here is one from John Davis from that period Was going to say John Louis or Chris Pusey, but having a look at their sigs probably not.can't find one of Alan Molyneux
