Rogers put it on his own Facebook. I agree Olly Allen would be a good pick for the Bees if he wants it. Very well respected in the sport and he seems to have his head screwed on. Rumours of Rob Lyon leaving Kings Lynn so maybe an option? Has experience.
-
It's has to be a disappointment that he couldn't get some very good prospects to the club. A factor in why crowds were so poor as initially the were ok.
-
Lawarence Rogers leaves. Probably not a surprise considering the Storm might not even run next year.
-
I think every clubs thread will have a EDR debate considering it is part (or was) of the team building. It's not been helped on this thread by Shovlar constantly saying that Newman would be under 4, he's a Poole rider isn't he?
-
Good opportunity for Havvy to be part of that.
-
Rosco and Horton both said that last year's AGM was rushed and things that happened wasn't right. I think the way the draft was conducted ( if there was even a draft), the heatleader list and not reverting back to the old heat format were the main ones.
-
Havvy will manage up north probably Redcar.
-
Seriously comparing the two? Bates started last season (2015) as a PL reserve with a 3pt average and has now progressed into the top 5 with a 5 pt average. He's improved in 2 seasons.
-
Every year there are riders who have a good year or poor year. Thats part of the art of team building, trying to find riders that you think can improve on their averages. Tai's average was obtained fairly and recently, it didn't need changing.
-
So if we use converted averages we will have this crazy scenario. Bates averaged 4.76 for Coventry while Sarjeant averaged 3.81 in the EL. Converting PL averages Sarjeant would have a higher average than Bates for the 2017 EL season. How can that be right?

What Would You Like From The Agm
Woz01 replied to kingbee's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It's an easy thing to get around. You just get sponsor's to pay riders the extra wages instead of sponsors putting money into the club. -
The 2015 side was mainly made up of riders Havvy wanted. 2016 Havvy was in hospital so didn't help with the team building. I agree though the sooner a manager is named the better. Still disappointed I've not been contacted 😂
-
Well it's usually a weekend isn't it? So I guess 4th-6th November.
-
A strong reserve is key and I hope the promotion realise that for 2017 whichever format they decide. Does anyone actually know the date of the AGM seems a bit hush hush at the moment.
-
I wouldn't be sure if any rider from 2016 is owed money from riders actions. KK wouldn't have ridden a night before a GP and Woryna wouldn't have rode the night before the SEC if we owed them money. Woryna wants to be back next season. Of course we will be riding, Coventry Speedway now own the lease for the stadium Personally I think a more solid 1-7 is the way we will go.
-
If Poole get their way and it's the PL conversion then Bates will be a 3 and Starke just under 4!
-
No way should PL averages be converted and that comes from a Bees fan who could have Bates starting on 3 if that was used!
-
It needed Horton to want to do it though otherwise it wouldn't of mattered. He's put his money into it. Some of the best racing in a good few years.
-
Yes Horton makes mistakes and yes he shouts his mouth off before thinking (I've said this myself many times) but this is absolutely ridiculous the stick he is getting considering where we were 3 months ago. There was literally no hope of continuing.
-
He did talk and got an extended deal for the club, are people that consumed with hatred that they don't like the fact Bees will run next year because of Horton? Seems that way to me. If Sandhu was still in charge I'm fairly certain there would be no chance of a Bees team in 2017. He made no effort getting the stadium deal extended. Sandhu and Heaver didn't attend any of the Save cov Speedway meetings either, Horton did and many more with Rugby Council. Horton whether you like it or not has given us a chance and hopefully 3 years for Sandhu and Heaver to find a site and build a new stadium for their stox and Hortons Bees.
-
Good post. Whatever people think of him we should have speedway for at least 1 probably 3 years. Sandhu and Heaver told us the site owner wouldn't even entertain the idea of the stadium continuing but Horton and Cllr Stokes managed to get a deal done through talking and hard work.

I asked because of the newspaper reports regarding Gomolski maybe in the frame. There will be a few that would leave I'd have thought. I haven't thought about Kurtz at Coventry to be honest but whoever does sign him will have a decent 2nd string rider who should progress a little more now he's had his 1st EL season.
-
I think whoever signs Brady will see the benefit of having an EL season under his belt.

How Do We Attract A New Young Audience?
Woz01 replied to PHILIPRISING's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Speedway isn't the only sport where stadiums toilets are questionable. I've been to several football league grounds where the toilet facilities are shall we say, rank.
