True Keith thats why i said put dozens on the gate .
-
Theres your answer folks to save British speedway put a boxing ring on the centre green for Disagreeing BSF members to sort out their differences in the interval should put dozens on the gate.
-
All this waffle 3 interested partys Pairman did not make the final cut end of So where is the terrible news it means they are closer to picking the new Belle vue promoter out of the 2 remaining candidates.
-
A few days ago you asked me to find any posts where a Poole fan had posted on a troubled clubs page any negative/gloating posts as you had not seen any. Guess what i just found one.
-
What in this statement gives a cause to worry that Belle vue will not run.All it states is that Mr Pairman is out of the running. The last sentance says (quote)Best of luck to whomsoever is favoured by the BSPA to take over this icon of speedway). This to me states that others are in the running and someone will take over it just won't be him. So to me reading the possitive points of this statement at this stage there is still no need to worry.

A few Poole fans seem to post negative thoughts and gloat on threads of clubs that are having problems.Just remember Poole fans Matt Ford has said himself that he won't be there forever. Before him you had years of crap teams and won sod all and a poor new promoter could take you back there, and as we know Poole fans only seem to support successful teams so your club could be one day at risk like many others you never know. The difference being mainly because of a few posters on here i don't think anyone will give a s&*T.
-
Thats the way most people think will happen.Which makes Shovlers comment even more wrong as the crowd numbers will be the main income and the new promoters must think there are enougth to sustain the sport in the new stadium.
-
You are a waste of oxygen.
-
You keep going over old ground you said all this back in March but you dont address a post in answer to the comment you made in the last part of your 1st post.
-
Think we only managed to run 4 times on a Fri with the early season back log. Both nights were far better than the dog track but i would say that from memory that Fri nights had the better crowds. But saying that what team were visiting seemed to me to have a bigger say in crowd size whatever the night.
-
Belle vue raced on a Sat night then they moved to kirky lane and rode on a Fri then they had to move nights to a Mon then we moved into the new stadium and moved back to a Fri but ran most meetings on a Wed.But guess what i just found out what night they were racing and just turned up because i love speedway.
-
(Crowd numbers no where near the required level to sustain the sport in the new stadium.) If this comment is correct no one would touch the place with a barge pole.So then how do you explain that as reported that there are 3 sperate groups of people in talks with the council all putting their cases forward why they should be chosen to be the new promoters of Belle vue speedway.I would think that they would all disagree with your comment.
-
On the other hand if the council do not do the work(the work they should have done in the first place and that seems to have played a big part in the previous promoters down fall) and the new promoters pull out do you not think that the council should answer to the public for spending millions of pounds on an unfinished stadium that is unfit for purpose.A stadium that has (reported) 3 promoters that are interested in paying rent for.Rent that would be lost because they have not finished the stadium.Leaving them with a stadium that is only being used by an american football team with a few hundred supporters the only other sport that has shown any interest in using the stadium. As a rate payer i might ask a few more questions if a purpose built speedway stadium is not being used because the council did not finish off the work, rather than them spending the money they should have done in the first place and the stadium bringing in revenue. Its like them building a new council estate and no one will rent the houses because the tenants have to pay for the bathroom to be put in.

Bit of a harsh safety fence.

Yes i agree there is a lot of preasure on Jack the Poole fans seem to expect big things time will tell but the figures tell us that in 2015 jack ended on a Prem average of 7.10 and 7.16 in 2016 not a massive improvement. Kurtz moved up last year on a Prem average of 8.73 and achived an average of 7.65 in his short stint in the Prem league this year so the averages say that Kurtz is the better rider at the momment. But as we know Kurtz did nowhere near what people thought he would do in last years Elite league. So Pooles season could depend very much on how these two perform next year and at this time the jury says who knows.
-
As a Belle vue fan at the momment i am still of the same opinion having stood and watched a full seasons racing in a new stadium .
-
We all know that to have a successful team its all about balance you have to have a rider that can do his job in all the riding positions and as we all know from the last 2 seasons Leicester got it very wrong apart from the reserves.Perhaps the fact that Leicesters number 1 is now Pooles reserve next year explains why they got the rest of the team very wrong. I know Poole have got him on his Prem league average but the truth is any team that has Klindt as there best averaging rider is not going to do very well is it.
-
Well he seems keen on you Gustix.
-
Good reserves are still an important part of the team if you have a good one on form he can have 7 rides and win you a meeting.
-
19 riders who rode in last years Nat league have championship team places and another 3 have Prem team places.Progress for the young Brits the way it should be.Its what the British leagues need now more than ever. I think the leagues should well look after the young Brits and the Australians they are mostly loyal to our leagues and are i m o the key to British speedways future.
-
Why the riders if the worst thing happens the riders will at some stage find another club be it here or abroad. Its the fans that you should be sorry for because they can never replace their club.
-
Every things is more expensive these days i could go on and on and right a long list. But as an eg i used to go to football on a Sat afternoon have a couple of pints and a bite to eat then on to the speedway.I would have a good few nights down the pub and perhaps a night at the cinema. All this was affordable.Where as nowadays there is no way that i have the money to do all that every week i choose to watch speedway a few football matches in the winter and a night or 2 in the pub of which a fair few have now closed their doors.People have to pick and choose what they spend their spare money on these days it would seem that more and more people are choosing not to spend it on speedway.
-
Anyone can put a great team together on paper the hard bit for promoters is getting all the riders they want to sign on the dotted line.If a few offers are on the table a rider will choose the team he wants to ride for leaving the other promoters to have a re think and having to sign a rider who is perhaps their 2nd choice. It could have a knock on effect and not getting one rider they want could change the whole line up of the team they had first planned. Soz forgot to quote in response to Cols post #1100
-
I make that team 38.68.I was ok with sharing a team with Coventry but if that is next years team i am feeling a little pig sick that all the home meetings won't be at Belle vue. Some great talent there would be a joy to watch them develop over a full season.
-
Tell you what i think re Ford being loyal to Kurtz for years to come. The only reason Kurtz is in the team is because he rode a few meetings in last years Prem league (7.65) and he is allowed to use that average next year.If he had been stuck with a converted Elite league average of 9.01 then there is no way in hell he would have made the Poole team next year.Holder as an example average to high for a balanced team etc.
