  1. Yes, I thought about Hans Andersen, but somehow he never seems to have lived up to his potential. A few years ago he looked like a World Champion in the making but it never quite happened. Good call with Bo Petersen certainly.
  2. Jan O is the fifth automatic choice. My other two would be Tommy Knudsen and Arne Pander but by this time next year I have a feeling we could be adding NKI as an automatic.
  3. Here's my Africa team Doug Davies Henry Long Keith Harvey Buddy Fuller Doug Serrurier Mike Ferreira Peter Prinsloo
  4. Did you ever see Barry Briggs ride, pugwash?
  5. mickthemuppetCan you ever get anything right? Eric Langton was a much stronger rider before the War. The fact he was still getting those sort of averages after the War shows just shows what a great rider he was over his whole career and much better than Bill Kitchen.
  6. Doug Davies, possibly the best of the lot.
  7. Blimey, Mick, you're even older than I thought. You saw Eric Langton in his hey-day????
  8. Agree 100% with your first choice team, Rob.
  9. Soften them up, then hit 'em hard in the second match with your best team, eh Rob?
  10. Sorry, remind me again, who is Darcy Ward? Is he a speedway rider? Has something happened involving him recently? Can I find any information about him anywhere?
  11. Zenon Plech first came to ride in England for Hackney in 1976. Marian Kaiser 1959 Leicester; Henryk Zyto 1960 Coventry; Stefan Kwoczala 1960 Leicester. Kaz Bentke 1961 Coventry; Pawel Waloszek 1961 Leicester.......
  12. Plus Lionel Van Praag at no.8 for another world title.
  13. A very close call between Knutson and Michanek. Perhaps we could have a pre-meeting run-off to decide!
  14. Can't see it, chr. Plechanov Samorodov Gollob Plech Jancarz Waloszek Woryna Possibly Sayfutdinov if only he could be bothered to enter the GPs!
  15. Bily Hamill for Scott Autrey, other than that can't disagree.
  16. Difficult to disagree, chr. I'd love Bjorn to be in there, but who would he replace?
  17. I would choose Vivian Woodward in a best England football team ever.
  18. Oh well, we haven't done Australia yet... Frank Arthur Vic Huxley Bluey Wilkinson Vic Duggan Aub Lawson Jack Young Jason Crump
  19. Oh dear! Anything but that!
  20. I'm surprised no-one has mentioned Banger yet.
  21. Sorry, R&R. you are quite right of course.
  22. Ove Fundin Tony Rickardsson Bjorn Knutson Anders Michanek Per Jonson Olle Nygren Gote Nordin
