  1. It's just painful listening to Kelvin trying to work out the finalists.
  2. Lambert must have thought he was in the Grand Prix there with that line up…
  3. Thank you. I have done some checking and yes, you are right, that was the last time. Over 40 years ago!
  4. Out of interest, does anyone know the last time a speedway meeting was broadcast live on terrestrial tv?
  5. Don't know about the others, but Hackney greyhounds ran on Thursday and Saturday nights, so there was no problem with "Make it a Date, Friday at Eight" for speedway.
  6. Where would we all be without rumours?
  7. Ooops, that's who I meant. It's my age....
  8. All change for Ipswich then: 1. Richard Lawson 2. Scott Nicholls 3. Danny King 4. Tom Brennan 5. Tobiasz Musielak 6. Kevin Juhl Pedersen 7. Jason Edwards
  9. Doesn't Tungate have a 100% record in Grand Prix? Two starts, two wins in the 2017 Australian Grand Prix.
  10. "….fires himself to the front." "Each rider has now had their five rides, so we know their scores, but I haven't got a clue who's qualified for the Elsie Queue."
  11. I'll start it off. Jack Hill-Bailey, High Beech, 19 February 1928. Not many more to go now.
  12. We could actually put a good team together: 1. Bjorn Knutson 2. Reg Luckhurst 3. Norman Hunter 4. Bengt Jansson 5. Sverre Harrfeldt 6. Stan Stevens 7. Brian Leonard with Ted Ede and Terry Stone as back-ups in case of injury.
  13. Bjorn Knutson, Reg Luckhurst, Sverre Harrfeldt, Bengt Jansson, Ted Ede, Terry Stone
  14. Just out of interest, Ove, who is now 93 and no.1 on the list has just been for a motor bike ride, starting from his home in Tranås Sweden, first to Karlskrona for an overnight ferry to Gdynia Polen, made a short break in Mragowo, then to Kaunas and a night stay, next Vilnius and Riga, where he had planned to spend the night, but the forecast was for a bad rainstorm the next day so he carried on to Tallin. He then woke up to terrible rain and got to the ferry terminal very wet for the ferry to Stockholm He said afterwards, "After a most enjoyable trip I loved every minute on the bike. Now I am home and my wife Ioana is happy as she worries when I am away on my bike ride." Just to repeat - he is now 93 years old!
  15. What exactly does your shocking and woeful display of scientific ignorance have to do with Ipswich speedway?
  16. I think the announcement is that tomorrow night's meeting has been postponed in case it rains.
  17. Yes, but they are only "half decent". Lindgren is fully decent.
