The whole thing seems to be a lesson in how not to run a sports club...
And I support Spurs so at the moment I certainly know how not to run a sports club...!!!!
By now they must know at least some of the answers... who is in charge... who is the promoter... who is riding for the team... what is the team called... what are the teams colours...
So can anyone come up with a logical reason why these things are still being kept a secret?
Ok... so will they refund the donations when they get the insurance payout in a few months time...?
If not... maybe every track should arrange for a few local vandals to pay a nocturnal visit... and then get the damage paid for twice...
Of course it's their prerogative to do whatever they want... they can keep the whole thing a secret for ever if they choose...
I would just have thought that they'd want to give themselves the best chance to make a decent go of it and I don't think leaving it all till the last minute is the way to do it...
Just my opinion...
Speedway really is incredible...
You'd think they'd want to get as much information out there as soon as possible to try to generate a bit of local interest...
Instead it's...
We have a brand new exciting venture for you to follow...
We won't tell you whose in charge...
We won't tell you whose running the team...
We won't tell you whose riding for the team...
Roll Up... Roll Up...
This was my first thought... surely they must have insurance in place and not need the long suffering fans to once again dig into their pockets...
And what about CCTV?... Are they trying to identify the culprits?
Just found a few cable tv channels... That's TV... That's TV 2 and That's TV 3... which play quite regular shows most mornings and evenings of music from the 60's and 70's... including 2 or 3 songs by The Love Affair...
I think that on Sky they are channels 171, 181 and 183
Great stuff....!!!!
Tracks gone astray... leaving hurt when they go...
Another old fave of mine of a similar vintage...
R.Dean Taylor...
Indiana Wants Me... There's a Ghost in my House... Gotta See Jane... etc etc...
Remember him?
A great song... along with another classic of theirs... "Everlasting Love"
They don't make 'em like that anymore... and haven't for a long long time...!
Which do we think it's gonna be...?
"Those Were The Days".... Mary Hopkin
or...
"Bringing On Back The Good Times".... Love Affair
I think I know which one I'd be backing...!!!!
I'd say that the only thing to predict at the moment is...
Will there actually be a Premier League...
And if so will it contain 4,5 or 6 teams...
The silence is deafening... and the contempt with which the supporters are dealt is off the charts...
I'm based in West London and in my time I've followed Wembley, Wimbledon, Hackney, White City, Eastbourne, Rye House, Lakeside and Oxford...
I think it's about a 60 mile drive for me to get to Northampton, so I might give them a visit or two if it ever get's off the ground...
