Take no notice, he'll go away!

At least we can now hopefully look forwards to the promotion getting on with sorting the team.

British Speedway Promoters Meeting
alfiemorris replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
My thoughts too! British or not, what are last years Elite reserves going to do ? If the Elite teams cherry pick their 1 to 5 and have the reserves allotted, there wont be any room for them........Anywhere! -
British Speedway Promoters Meeting
alfiemorris replied to dantodan's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
I've not read all the way through yet, A couple of observations 1/ which riders in the N/L would want to ride in the E/L? 24 and more WHEN the injuries occur. 2/ Surely their costs are going to increase in order to ride, even against fellow N/L riders. Most, if not all, N/L riders are employed, therefore not able to commit to E/L as well as N/L. All this and all tracks to have air fences! Ludicrous action as far as I can see. I'd love to know out of all the promoters, who was in agreement with these new rules. -
We at Plymouth were in the same place this time last year, and I/we can only hope that someone steps up and takes over The Tigers. Best wishes to you all.

Stockholm Gp September 21st
alfiemorris replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Bloody good post! Tai very nearly a World Champion, and the media don't even know it! Good idea about showing the BBC and ITV though! -
As a Devils supporter, as sure as I can be? It was reported in the local Herald that the 13th was hopefully the new date and I think people latched on that, as I did. Last night (10th) a Memorial match for Tony Sanford is taking place on the 13th (weather permitting) I think the Promotion left it with Newcastle to decide? I have no reason to believe otherwise.
-
Don't be so bloody daft! First of all. Bowden's gone. Forgotten, End of. And as far as the getting the meeting on, well, there's no-way the new promotion SAID that it was going to be the 13th! I believe they asked? as the Devils were available. Not sure when, but again I believe, that Newcastle declined the date. I have reason to believe that the original match was rightfully called off because of rain and a crap weather forecast and, that the match will go ahead asap, weather permitting.

T'was raining hard in Saltash about teatime, Thought the end of the world was coming all day? Big black clouds, And I mean BIG, but didn't come to anything till later on. Raining till 8ish, quite hard, if I recollect correctly? Big disappointment it didn't happen, but, the SBA don't take kindly to being rained on! Not happening on the 13th either I believe? so not sure when?

This is/has proved to be good reading and very interesting. I am a Plymouth Devils fan and have been since its re-incarnation in 2006. We now have a progressive promotion in charge and although the team as a whole this season hasn't faired too well through injuries, I'm sure next year we ought to go from strength to strength, hopefully! The thing that amazes me is how Tai Woffinden can be so close to being our own World Champion, and no Media mention as far as I know of? Perhaps "synikalle" could not only help the Devils promotion, but this seemingly lack of enthusiasm regarding Tai, and British Speedway as a whole.

Sorry, I'm no expert, but what becomes of the over 8's then? I agree that there is not enough Brit's coming thru', but I really cant see that sort of rule change improving the situation.

Somerset Vs Plymouth 29/03/13
alfiemorris replied to SomersetBlue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Have to agree with Lewi there, so many improvements with the Devils for 2013. Proud to be a Plymouth fan and all thanks to the new promotion. Visitorsa will be pleased with the new surroundings at the SBA. Now we can hold our heads up high! -
Hands together then folks, and pray for a future for Plymouth Devils.

Dont be too unfair on Gino, he looked pretty strong on Saturday. Granted not racing, but I'm looking forward to see him on his new machinery.
-
No doubt about it, with Ben, Ryan and Leigh on board, numbers on the gate going to multiply by plenty. Only troubles going to be, getting in and keeping my usual spot! Can't 'ardly wait! Everyone welcome by the way.

Dont want even contemplate that senario, thankyou very much. Been there and got whole box of teashirts!!!!
-
Ahh yes! then we can bring in good ol' R/R.............Not!
-
'Cos he comes cheap I suppose ? Why drag someone out of retirement when there are lots of riders still available ? More young blood needed, not a shade of ones former self IMO.

Just had to sign on to wish all the best Jamie, Plymouth won't be the same without you. Maybe see again in a season or two. Potters, our loss, your gain, get behind this lad please. He's a good 'un.
